Located close to the town of Franz
Josef, the Westwood Lodge is situated beside State Highway 6 in a
rural setting of bush and lawns, in the shadows of towering snow
capped mountains of the Franz Josef area.
The Lodge has been developed over
the last four years to offer the very best in accommodation serving
the Franz Josef glacier region. Architecturally styled to
reflect the New Zealand West Coast forest environment, the Lodge
has the warmth of natural timber throughout all the rooms.
The accommodation is offered
in the main lodge house, and in the converted single storey
wooden coachhouse, which provides a warm, comfortable
atmosphere. The spacious guest suites offer superking beds
with electric blankets, luxurious ensuite bathrooms with bath,
separate tiled shower, double vanity sinks, hairdryer,
bathrobes and cosy underfloor heating, sitting area,
minibar/fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and large
picture windows or french doors to the outside and a
private patio. In the main lodge house, the Grand Suite
also offers more spacious accommodation, with the addition of a
separate lounge and separate bedroom area, ideal for small families
or if you just want to spread out a bit.
The spacious guest lounge has huge
floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the view, large open fireplace
and loads of comfy sofas to sink into at the end of your day.
For a little entertainment, the billiard room has a full-size
billiard/pool table for guest use, and a continental and
freshly cooked breakfast is served every morning in the bright
breakfast room.
The Westwood Lodge is a very

with most going into Auckland.
Air New Zealand: Operate
a daily service from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Auckland,
and a daily service, except Monday, from Heathrow to
Auckland Via Hong Kong, with extensive connecting flights to all
major cities and towns throughout both islands.
Korean Air: Offer daily
flights to Auckland via Seoul from Heathrow.
Singapore Airlines:
Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch via Singapore from
Heathrow and Manchester
Emirates Airlines:
Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch, and other
destination in Australia, via Dubai, from Heathrow, Gatwick,
Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow
Thai Airways: Offer
five flights a week to Auckland via Bangkok.
