The Lodge at Paratiho is a working
farm of over 2000 acres, with deer, sheep and cattle and is just a
short 30-minute drive from Nelson Airport. But the Lodge's
accommodation is as far from a dusty, muddy farm as you could
possibly imagine!
Completed in 1999, the luxury,
modern designed central lodge and accommodation bungalows are
situated in a beautifully landscaped hollow, set among rolling
hills overlooking a crystal blue lake. All the accommodation
has been built and furnished to the very highest of standards, with
a subtle mix of the old and new which affords the guest one of the
most elegant and secluded experiences to be found in New
Zealand.
Each guest suite offers a separate
bedroom with twin or king-size beds, some of which are romantic
4-poster beds, luxurious ensuite bathrooms with large French-style
soaking tub, double vanity sinks, complimentary toiletries and
french doors to a private courtyard garden, fireplace, sitting room
with easy chairs and a private terrace to enjoy the sun and admire
the beautiful views.
Paratiho Lodge is an all-inclusive
property, and the room rate includes daily cooked and continental
breakfast, lunch, dinner, all beverages, including tea, coffee and
wine, minbar and freshly baked cookies in your room. The
food served is the freshest local produce traditonally
prepared with a South Pacific flavour and can be served
in the inviting dining room, or in one of the many
private dining areas around the Lodge. Ideal for those
on honeymoon, or on a "second" honeymoon!
Guests are also invited to use all
the on-site recreational facilities, including quiet lounges,
library, outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, golf putting green,
petanque, croquet, expansive landscaped gardens full of modern art
sculptures, a large well-equipped gym with sauna-steam room, and
farm and bush walks. They also have one of New Zealand's top
rated Spas, the Paratiho Health Spa, where you relax and indulge in
the many treatments they offer.
If you want to try something
different, during the winter months, April through to October,
cooking classes are held at the 'Paratiho Cooking School' on
Wednesdays and weekends, and guests are welcome to book a class,
subject to availability.
The Lodge is well located for your
base to explore all that the Nelson area has to offer, which is
much and varied, and is an ideal property if you want indulgent
luxury and peaceful privacy.
