Set near the shores of Lake Tekapo, about 2 1/2 hours drive from Christchurch, and surrounded by the spectacular landscapes of the Southern Alps, the Peppers Bluewater Resort, Lake Tekapo, is an individual, contemporary hotel offering peace and tranquility in luxurious surroundings.

Peppers Bluewater Resort offers accommodation in standard hotel rooms and 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroomed villas, some with mountain views, or pool and garden views, and some with beautiful lake views.  Rooms and villas are decorated and furnished in a modern and contemporary style.

The Standard Hotel rooms are quite small, at just under 15 sqm, and although they offer a king-size bed and ensuite shower room with hairdryer, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, underfloor heating, minifridge, LCD TV, iron and ironing board and Wi-Fi Internet access (fee), we would only recommend these rooms for a quick overnight stay, due to the smaller dimensions.  These rooms do not have a balcony or patio, and are all located on the ground floor.

The Deluxe Hotel Rooms are slightly larger, and offer the same facilities as the Standard Room, and can offer either 1 King or 2 Twin beds.  The Deluxe Lakeview Hotel Rooms also features a private balcony with views of the lake.

The Villas are available in 1, 2, or 3-bedroomed villas, with mountain or lakefront views.  They offer king or twin beds in the separate bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms with bath and shower, fully equipped kitchen, tea and coffee making facilities, refrigerator, iron and ironing board, alarm clock/radio, separate open-plan living and dining room with open fire, LCD TV with Sky channels, CD player, comfortable sofas and chairs, and private balconies with views of the mountains behind the property, or the beautiful Lake Tekapo with the mountain ranges beyond.

The Rakinui Restaurant is open daily for breakfasts and dinner, offering a wide selection of international cuisine and fresh local produce in elegant surroundings, with spectacular views across Lake Tekapo from the wall of windows, or from the outdoor terrace.  The Restaurant offers a relaxed and casual dining setting with outdoor dining tables on the terrace, in warmer weather.

The Rakinui Lounge is open for drinks and snacks daily where guests can unwind amongst comfy sofas or enjoy pre dinner drinks beside the open log fire.  The Resort also offers a selection of books and board games in the lounge, and has fishing rods, mountain bikes and remote control jet boats to play with.

The Resort provides a number of guest services, such as laundry facilities, 24 hr reception, concierge service, guest parking, courier and postal services, babysitting and child minding services and a tourist information and bookings desk.

Away from the property, the recreational opportunities are numerous and varied.  There are a number of nearby ski fields to enjoy in the winter months, and fishing, mountain biking, kayaking, horse-riding and hiking at all levels are available all year round.
