The Scenic Hotel Franz Josef Glacier sits on the edge of the beautiful Westland World Heritage Park, and is just moments from one of New Zealand's most spectacular natural attractions, the Franz Josef Glacier. The Hotel makes the most of its alpine location and offers quality accommodation in two separate hotel 'wings' both with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and countryside.
The Guest Rooms are in 2 wings with 2 floors, the Graham Wing, with 46 Standard Guest Rooms, and the Douglas Wing, with 84 more spacious Superior Rooms, all with desk space and private balconies. Rooms offer 1 King or 2 Double beds, ensuite bathrooms with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, Sky TV, telephone, internet access, telephone, clock radio, tea and coffee making facilities, min-bar/fridge, heating, and large opening windows to enjoy the views.
The Scenic Hotel Franz Josef offers 2 restaurants to choose from. On the first floor, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and countryside, The Glasshouse Restaurant is open from October until April, and offers traditional West Coast a la carte menus for breakfast and dinner. The menu features famous West Coast whitebait, Westland lamb, fresh local chicken, steaks and vegetables, and a good selection of local and international wines and beers. Caravans Restaurant offers a hearty breakfast buffet and traditonal evening meals, all year round. The Rata bar has a good selection of local and imported beers, wines and drinks, in a cozy lounge setting with roaring open log fire.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcome. Up to two children under 12 years stay FREE when sharing with accommpanying parents and using existing beds. Up to 2 children over 12 years using existing bedding are charged at £25 per night. 1 child uner 2 years stays free and complimentary cots are available on request.

There are number of Airlines offering one-stop, same carrier flights from the UK to New Zealand, with most going into Auckland.
Air New Zealand: Operate a daily service from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Auckland, and a daily service, except Monday, from Heathrow to Auckland Via Hong Kong, with extensive connecting flights to all major cities and towns throughout both islands.
Korean Air: Offer daily flights to Auckland via Seoul from Heathrow.
Singapore Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch via Singapore from Heathrow and Manchester
Emirates Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch, and other destination in Australia, via Dubai, from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow
Thai Airways: Offer five flights a week to Auckland via Bangkok.
Qantas: Offer daily connecting flights over Sydney to Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and there are regular connecting fights to Queenstown.
