During 2011, the Heartland Hotel Marlborough has been transformed into a modern, contemporary, property with a multi-million dollar renovation, that has seen it upgraded to a 4-star Scenic Hotel.

Work included a complete facelift and paint of the exterior of the existing building, modernisation of the corridors and a full re-fit of every one of the guest rooms, of which there are 54. The first stage of rooms were completed in early August 2011, with the remainder to be completed by mid October.

Scenic Heartland Hotel Marlborough is conveniently located just minutes walk from the centre of Blenheim, and puts some of New Zealand's finest food and wine virtually on your doorstep, bringing a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to the heart of Marlborough Wine Country and its world-famous Sauvignon Blancs.

The Hotel has 54 rooms, and once the hotel re-opens in October 2011, everything will be fresh, new and well appointed. The interconnecting rooms all have city views, and offer 1 Super King bed, which can be split into 2 single beds, or 1 Queen bed, air conditioning, ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, 42" LCD TV with Sky and freeview channels, telephone, high-speed internet access, work desk, clock/radio with iPod dock, fridge and minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary newspaper, iron and ironing board and in-room safe.

The Hotel features the Seymours Restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, a bar/lounge serving drinks til late, 24 hours a day room service, and outdoor pool, a spa tub, sauna, laundry and dry cleaning service, business centre with computor equipment and busniess services, meeting and conference rooms, Wi-Fi internet access (fee), and a Tourist information and excursions booking desk.

There are number of Airlines offering one-stop, same carrier flights from the UK to New Zealand, with most going into Auckland.

Air New Zealand: Operate a daily service from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Auckland, and a daily service, except Monday, from Heathrow to Auckland Via Hong Kong, with extensive connecting flights to all major cities and towns throughout both islands.

Korean Air: Offer daily flights to Auckland via Seoul from Heathrow.

Singapore Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch via Singapore from Heathrow and Manchester

Emirates Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch, and other destination in Australia, via Dubai, from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow

Thai Airways: Offer five flights a week to Auckland via Bangkok.

Qantas: Offer daily connecting flights over Sydney to Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and there are regular connecting fights to Queenstown.
