Built by Sir James Fletcher in 1924 to serve as his private residence, whilst he oversaw the construction of the New Zealand and South Seas Exhibition complex, Fletcher Lodge today offers charming and elegant accommodation.
This historic property offers a rare glimpse of New Zealand's heritage, located just a few minutes walk from the Dunedin City centre. Nestled in a secluded, established gardens, the Lodge is conveniently located within minutes of many of the city's finest, and most popular cafes and restaurants.
Fletcher Lodges complex offers luxury accommodation in an atmosphere of restrained elegance while providing the ultimate in contemporary comfort and modern facilities. They offer 6 individually decorated rooms and two, 2-bedroom suites, of which each room can be booked individually, or you can book the suites in their entirety. Each room offers individual Victorian furnishings and decor, a king, super-king bed or 2 king single beds, luxurious ensuite bathrooms with hairdryer, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries, some with showers, others with traditonal claw-foot tubs, telephone, TV with satelite channels, work desk and chair, heating and large windows overlooking the gardens or opening doors to the patio.
A pleasant, oak-panelled guest lounge is available to relax in, with complimentary newspapers, tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary internet access, comfy chairs and a cozy open fire. Guests can also make use of the Lodge's laundry facilities for a small charge, and iron and ironing boards are available to use.
A complimentary breakfast is served each morning on fine china and silverware in the impressive Wedgwood Breakfast Room, and usually consists of fresh orange juice, a selection of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, fresh-baked croissants, a selection of toasts, gourmet conserves, fresh coffee and various teas. Hearty cooked breakfast options are also available.

There are number of Airlines offering one-stop, same carrier flights from the UK to New Zealand, with most going into Auckland.
Air New Zealand: Operate a daily service from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Auckland, and a daily service, except Monday, from Heathrow to Auckland Via Hong Kong, with extensive connecting flights to all major cities and towns throughout both islands.
Korean Air: Offer daily flights to Auckland via Seoul from Heathrow.
Singapore Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch via Singapore from Heathrow and Manchester
Emirates Airlines: Offer daily flights to Auckland and Christchurch, and other destination in Australia, via Dubai, from Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle and Glasgow
Thai Airways: Offer five flights a week to Auckland via Bangkok.
Qantas: Offer daily connecting flights over Sydney to Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and there are regular connecting fights to Queenstown.
