What was the famous Aggie Grey's Resort and Spa, is now under the managment of the Starwood Corp and has now been renamed as the Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort. It is still Samoa's newest and largest resort hotel, just a short drive form the airport, and featuring it's own eighteen hole golf course. The Resort is built among very lovely gardens on the islands' north shore, providing stunning views across the ocean to the neighbouring island of Savai'i.
All the 133 rooms and suites are arranged in five, 2-storey buildings built along the beachfront, and offer views across manicured tropical gardens, the pool and the white sand beach with the turquoise sea beyond. The Deluxe Ocean View Room offers 1 King or 2 Twin Sheraton Sweet Sleeper beds, stylish ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, 40" or 42" flat screen TV with cable channels, DVD player, iPod docking station, work desk and chair, Wi-Fi internet access (fee), IDD telephone, Air conditioning, sofa, coffee table, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, refrigerator with complimentary bottle water, in-room laptop-size safe, and sliding patio doors opening out to a private furnished balcony or patio with ocean views. The Executive 1-Bedroom Suite is double the size of the rooms, and has a separate bedroom with a King bed, and a living room with a sofa bed and a spacious ensuite bathroom with separate slipper bath and walk-in shower. The Deluxe 1-Bedroom Suite is larger than the Executive Suite, has more luxurious features and is on the top floor, offering panoramic views.
There are two main on-site restaurants; the South Pacific Restaurant serving local and international dishes for lunch and dinner, and the Apolima Fale, offering a varied breakfast buffet and a dinner buffet menu of Pacific Rim and international dishes, and themed nights througout the week. The Pool Bar overlooks the sparkling free-form outdoor pool and serves snack and drinks all day til 6.00pm, and the Lobby Bar offers light bite snacks with a full bar service, with indoor and outdoor seating, with lovely sea views, right up til midnight.
The Resort has a lovely free-form pool with surrounded by a spacious sun terrace with sun loungers and umbrellas, and the white sand beach is a short stroll across the gardens. There is a selection of watersports available, with snorkelling equipment, fishing, kayaks and hobie cat sail boats. There is a well equipped fitness centre, a billiards table, tennis courts and the La Penina 18 hole golf course. If you want to relax and be pampered for a while, the Manaia Polynesian Spa can offer a range of body and beauty treatments. And if you want to explore, go shopping or try a local diner, the town of Apia is a 45 minute non-stop shuttle ride away (fee) or the local bus stops at the entrance to the resort and takes roughly 1 hour.
If you are looking for a lush tropical wedding location, for a large family get together or a small intimate ceremony, then look no further, as the resort has its own lovely wedding chapel set in lush gardens, which is ideal for that very special day. Alternatively, you can opt to get married on the sandy beach if you wish. Whatever you would like for your special day, they can arrange everything for you.
Aggie Grey's is a famous name in Samoa, and the partnership with Sheraton has made this Resort better than before.
