The Saletoga Sands Resort and Spa is located in the shore of a sheltered bay, with a white sandy beach and turquoise waters, on the south-east coast of Upolu Island, just over 1 hours drive from the International Airport.
This brand new boutique Resort only opened in April 2014, so everything is in perfect condition! They have have also done some further refurbishment and a building programme (2017-2018) to further improve the Resort and accommodation. They now offer just 42 detached luxury villas and bungalows; 2 Lagoon View Bungalows, 7 Deluxe Villas, 10 Lagoon View Family Bungalows, 12 Beachfront Villas, 10 Deluxe Family Villas, and the unique Matai Villa Suite, plus 17 Hotel rooms in a 2 storey building in the gardens just behind the main restaurant and Beachfront Villas.
The Hotel Rooms are modern and spacious, and offer 1 King or (some rooms) 2 single beds, a single/day bed, modern ensuite with walk-in shower, stone sink and hairdryer, TV, tea and coffee making facilities, microwave and fridge, and sliding patio doors opening to a private balcony or patio overlooking the gardens. There are 2 Deluxe Rooms and 1 Executive Room, which are larger and more spacious than the Standard Hotel Rooms.
The 2 Lagoon View Bungalows are set in the tropical garden just along the edge of the beach and just a few steps through the palm trees to the sea. The Resort is planning to replace these last 2 traditional thatched bungalows with brand new bungalows, in the same style and size as the Lagoon View Family Bungalows, at some time in the near future.
The Deluxe Villas are located around the beautifully landscaped gardens and around the pool area, but are just a few steps to the beach. The provide 1 King or 2 Single beds plus a rollaway bed suitable for a child, airy ensuite bathroom with double vanity, indoor and outdoor shower, bathrobes and hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-fridge (mini bar available on request - Fee), desk and chair, polished mahogany hardwood floors, in-room safe, iron and ironing board (on request), satelite TV with DVD player, telephone and a triple glass floor-to-ceiling wall with sliding door opening onto your private shaded deck with views of the gardens and/or pool with partial ocean views.
The Beachfront Villas are the same as the Ocean View Villas, but are located just on the treeline bordering the white sandy beach.
The Deluxe Family Villas offer the same amenities as the standard villas, but are larger and can accommodate up to 5 adults, with 1 king, 2 singles plus a rollaway bed, or 4 singles and the rollaway. They are set in the gardens just back from the pool but still only a stroll to the beach. The Lagoon View Family Villas are the same as the Deluxe, except thier location, being along the shoreline.
The Maitai Villa Suite is ideal for a romantic getaway, honeymoon or if you just want a private, peaceful retreat for your stay. The Maitai Villa is a detached bungalow with a furnished, shaded deck, just a few steps from the beach, and offers 1 king bed, private courtyard bathroom with outdoor shower and carved stone bathtub, plus all the other amenities that the other villas offer. You also get a complimentary fruit basket, bottle of sparkling wine, a selection of handmade chocolates and fresh flowers in your room on arrival. A perfect start for a romantic holiday or honeymoon.
The Bistro Restaurant offers an international menu with local flavours, that changes regularly to use fresh local produce where possible, accompanied by a good selection of world wines, beers and spirits. The Restaurant can seat over 100 guests, and serves a complimentary continental breakfast each morning. If you wanted just a light snack, you could enjoy a fresh pizza cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven around the pool, or choose from the snack menu. The well-stocked bar has a happy hour each evening 5.30-7.00pm where you can enjoy a drink or a cocktail and mingle with your fellow guests.
Being right on the beach, swimming and snorkelling is an easy walk from your villa, and if you don't want to swim in the sea, there is a fresh-water pool to enjoy. The Resort also has a small gym, an on-site Spa, daily cultural and kids activities programme (seasonal), a book and DVD library, and located on the beachfront, The Boatshed offers a range of non-motorised water sports equipment, such as kayaks and snorkelling gear, for guests use.
Wi-Fi is available throught the Resort, for a small fee, and they also provide a laundry service, babysitting/child-minding service and a gift and sundries shop. There is also a tours desk on site and their own tours with tour guides and other excursions can be booked for you. They have a selection of their own hire cars available to guests too.
The new Saletoga Resort offers a touch of quality on the south-east coast of Upolu, and would be a wonderful place to spend your time in Samoa.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcomed, and up to 2 children under 12 years stay free when sharing with parents, up to the maximum room occupancy. Costs for infants under 2 years is free of charge.

There are regular regional
international flight connections to and from the Samoan Islands and
all international flights that do operate, do so into Apia on the
island of Upolu. Currently there are no international flights
into the second Island of Savai'i.
Samoas' main carrier is Virgin Samoa, formerly Polynesian
Blue, which is a joint company operated by Virgin and the
Samoan government. Along with Virgin Australia they operate regular
services to Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with
connections to many other Australian cities, but they do not
currently operate any flights outside the southwest pacific
region. The country's other carrier is Polynesian Airlines
which operates the daily " air-bridge " between Apia and Pago Pago
in American Samoa.
Fiji
Airways, (was Air Pacific)
operate regular flights between Apia and Nadi or
Suva in Fiji which provide connections to their services to
Sydeny, Brisbane and Melbourn plus-Los Angeles, Hong Kong and
Singapore service, currently Fiji Airways opertae a weekly
service between Apia and Honolulu, which allows for connections to
the USA mainland.

The main long haul airline providing same service to the USA and Europe is Air New Zealand, with direct service to/from Auckland, provided five days a week (some seasonal variations apply) currently there is no one aircraft direct service to the mainland USA.
At present, there are no domestic flights within the Samoan islands and connections from Upo u to Savai'i are at this time only provided by car ferry ship, which provides frequent daily sailings between the two main islands, and takes
approximately 1 hour.
Plus currently (as of August 2016) there is no direct airservice between Samoa and Tonga
