Set on a picturesque beach on the north-west coast of Moorea, the Moorea Island Beach Hotel, formally the Fare Vai Moana, is a small, friendly Polynesian pension (similar to a B&B) that offers delightful bungalows in a pleasant garden setting, on the edge of a private white sand beach and the shallow, turquoise lagoon.
The Moorea Island Beach Hotel has just 11 traditionally built bungalows, located around the tropical, landscaped gardens, with braided bamboo walls, pandanus leaf roof and carved wooden pillars with garden or ocean views. There are 4 catagories of bungalow; Garden Bungalows, Garden with Kitchenette, Ocean and Beach Bungalows. Each Bungalow is quite basic, but offers a double bed with overhead net, ensuite bathroom, a small work desk and chair, Wi-Fi Internet access, a mini-bar/fridge, floor fan, in-room safety box, and sliding glass doors opening onto a private furnished verandah, with views of the gardens or the ocean. There is also a mezzanine floor with an additional double or 2 single beds, so each bungalow can accommodate up to 4 guests.
The Bar and Restaurant is right on the shoreline, and has gorgeous views of the ocean and the evening sunsets. The Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which you can enjoy in the Tahitian style interior or the open-air terrace. The Bar offers a good selection of beers, wines and spirits, as well as soft drinks and hand-made cocktails to sip and watch the sun set over the lagoon. The restaurant serves a basic continental-style breakfast, with fresh breads, pastries and fruit, or an American-style breakfast, with sausage, bacon, and eggs, and simple, light lunches, but is not open for dinner. However, nearby are a few good restaurants, some of which are at other nearby hotels, and there is a grocery store about 10 minutes walk away, where you can buy baguettes, cheese, meats, wine and other supplies.
Kayaks and bicycles are available for guests use, free of charge, and the white sand beach and the lagoon infront of the property is clear and shallow, with lots of sealife, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
There is a shopping centre close by, at the village of Le Petit Village with its selection of shops, gift and art shops, banking, car or scooter rentals, internet cafes and a number of various restaurants to experience.
The Fare Vai Moana Moorea is not a luxury property, but offers basic clean, comfortable accommodation in a friendly enviroment, close to facilities and right on a beautiful beach. They don't offer any of the frills or luxury of bigger resort properties, but if you want budget accommodation with a great view, this could be worth considering. What more could you ask for?

Children of all ages are catered for. Children 12 years old and under stay FREE when they share the room with accompanying adults and use the existing beds.

Please note: there is no 24 hr manned front desk at this property, and the reception is only manned for daytime hours up to 5.00pm. If you are arriving very early in the morning, or after 5.00pm in the afternoon, we will need to make special arrangements with the property for you.
Although there are frequent
international flights into Tahiti, French Polynesia's international
gateway to the World, there are limited airports of embarkation to
choose from, with currently only Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland and
Tokyo offering single plane air service to Tahiti.
The international airline for French Polynesia. is Air Tahiti
Nui, who operate daily flights from Paris and Los
Angeles to Tahiti, and on some days there are additional fights
to/from Los Angeles. In addition, they operate two weekly flights
to/from Auckland and they serve Tokyo twice a week. Their services
to New York and Sydney have been suspended, at this
time.
Air France
currently offer a service from Paris, three times a week via Los
Angeles
Air New Zealand
operates daily flights via LA to Papeete, and 5 days a week from/to
Auckland with it's own aircraft. It also operates a codeshare
arrangements with Air Tahiti Nui providing seats on their fights
from Tahiti to Auckland and Los Angeles.
United Airlines operate 3 times
a week from San Francisco to Papeete, on Tuesday, Thursday and
Sunday, which will connect to their daily flight from
Heathrow.
Air Calin
operate a weekly flight between Noumea, in New Caledonia, and
Tahiti.
Hawaiian
Airlines provide a weekly service between Honolulu and
Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
LANChile
operate a flight once a week from Santiago to Tahiti via
Easter Island, providing the availability to do a great side trip
from Tahiti to Easter island.
Air Tahiti is
French Polynesia's domestic airline, which operates an extensive
domestic flight network covering all the country's main islands,
with at least a daily service. With the main Society islands
receiving a number of flights a day, since Air Moorea stopped
operations between Tahiti and Moorea, the flight connections now to
Moorea have become limited, most connections between the two are
now done by ferry boat.
The less populated and outer islands have a restricted service, so
sometimes a night stop in Tahiti may be required when connecting to
these islands.
Air Tahiti
provide the only air service between Tahiti and the Cook islands,
which they currently do once a week on a Thursday, an extra high
season flight is operated between June and August
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for private charters, but they all tend to be based in Tahiti so arranging charters between the outer islands can be expensive as the aircraft will originate and terminate in Tahiti. Tahiti Nui Helicopters are one such company that operate resort transfers (where helipad available), inter-island flights and sightseeing trips. Contact us for further info.

Pricing Policy
Prices are based on a per room, per night basis for single or twin occupancy, room only basis.
Additional meal plan prices available on request.
There is a daily Communal Tax in Moorea, which is paid directly to the hotel upon the guests' departure. This is currently 200 XPF (Pacific Francs - roughly EUR1.70/£1.60) which is per person, per day.
