The Tanoa International Dateline Hotel is a modern, well equipped 4.5* property, right on the waterfront in the centre of Nuku'alofa town. Close to the Royal Palace, market, shops and restaurants, the hotel is in a great location for many of the places of interest around the town and the island.
The hotel offers 120 contemporary guest rooms and suites in 3 categories; Superior, Executive and Ocean View, plus the spacious Presidential Suite.
The 27 Superior and 11 Superior Courtyard rooms offer 1 King bed, ensuite bathroom with double vanity and walk-in shower, Wi-Fi Internet access, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge, flat screen TV with cable channels, in-room safe and large picture windows with views of the gardens or street. Courtyards rooms overlook the central courtyard and gardens.
The 28 Executive rooms offer the same amenities as the Superior but are slightly larger, with a King or 2 King single beds and larger work desk area. The 45 Ocean View rooms are very slightly smaller than the Superior rooms (by 1sqm) and have a Queen bed but do have a sunset view of the ocean from the large floor-to-ceiling windows, as do the 3 Ocean View Suites, which also have a king bed, a separate living room with a furnished balcony overlooking the ocean.
The Presidential Suite is a spacious 1 bedroom apartment, with bedroom with King bed and large ensuite bathroom, separate snug sitting room, kitchenette, dining and lounge area with sliding doors to a furnished balcony with ocean views.
The Tanoa International Dateline has 3 dining options, including the Tu'i Malila Restaurant serving daily buffet breakfasts, Fresh Bar & Grill, serving grill favourites for lunch and dinner and light snack all day, and the Taulanga'u Bar, off the lobby, serving tea and coffee, or a refreshing freshly made cocktail in the evening. And as you are right in the centre of town, there a number of nearby bars and restaurants to try out.
The hotel has a very pleasant pool and pool terrace, with loungers and umbrellas to shade from the sun, with pool bar to grab your favourite drink.
The Tanoa International Dateline Hotel is a great choice for guests wanting to stay on Tongatapu for a few days, or longer, at a reasonable price, to explore the island and the town.

There are regular regional international flight connections to and from Tonga, all international flights operate into Nuku'alofa on the main southern island of Tongatapu the nationals capitol, currently there are no international flights into the second Island grouping of Vava'u.
There is currently no Tongan national airline, so air connections to/from the Island are provided by other nations carriers. Virgin Australia operate regular service from Auckland and Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities, but they do not currently operate any flights out side the southwest pacific region.
Fiji Airways, formerly Air Pacific operate five flights a week from/to Fiji, twice weekly service between Tonga and Nadi which provide connections to their Nadi to Los Angeles, and Nadi to Hong Kong services, plus there are three flights a week between Tonga and Suva.
The main airline providing same carrier service to the USA and Europe is Air New Zealand with direct service to/from Auckland provided five days a week (some seasonal variations apply) and there is a week non-stop flight to and from Los Angeles, currently departing Tonga on Tuesday nights going via Samoa, arriving in LA on Tuesday, the return flight leaves LA on a Tuesday and again going via Samoa arrives in Tonga on Thursday morning. Currently, this flight also provides the only air service between Samoa and Tonga.
At this time there is only one airline providing domestic flights within the Tonga islands, however the history of the domesitc flight operations in Tonga has been a little patchy over the years.....so we can up date you with the current situation when you call.
