The Sheraton Waikiki faces right onto the famous Waikiki Beach and has a 30-storey wing-shaped tower, offering amazing views of the beach, Diamond Head or the Ko'olau Mountains across the Honolulu city skyline.
The Hotel completed a $55M renovation and refurbishment in 2007, which updated all the 1,636 rooms and 128 Suites, and has just reently completed a further refurbishment, including a new playground and pool area and a new Infinity Edge pool right on the ocean edge.
All rooms are decorated in calming cream and natural wood colours, with touches of tropical greens and florals, and offer air conditioning, ensuite facilities, cable TV, in-room movies(fee), in-room safe, high speed wireless Internet access(fee), tea/coffee making facilities, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and private lania(most rooms). The catagories available range from City view and Mountain View, both on the Mountain side of the building, Partial Ocean, Ocean View, Ocean Front, Deluxe Ocean Front, Large Luxury Ocean Front, 1-bed Suites and a Presidential Suite. The rooms on the Mountain side of the Tower are slightly larger than Beach side, due to the curve of building. City View up to Deluxe Ocean Front are between 225-300 sqft, with the Large Luxury Ocean Front offering 640sqft corner rooms, with a comfortable sitting area with sofa. Suites offer between 875 sqft for a Medium Suite, up to 2,224 sqft in the Presidential Suite.
The Sheraton Waikiki has a number of restaurants and bars to sample, offering a wide range of menu choices. From casual oceanfront lunches to Japanese cuisine, you will always find something new and different to experience.
Kai Market offers breakfast and dinner using fresh locally-grown fruits and vegetables. Breakfast includes omelets and fresh fruit, breads and cakes. Dinner menus vary daily offering Hawaiian flavours with an oriental touch and include meat and locally caught fish. Oceanfront Rumfire offers a Wild West style menu, with the largest selection of vintage Rum in the US, firepits and live entertainment on the patio. Ingredients (some assembly required!) offers made-to-order meals with fresh, local ingredients, with a selection of salads, sandwiches, pizza and beakfast and bakery items. The Edge of Waikiki is the Sheraton Waikiki's new signature pool bar, offering an adults-only location to sample "Vint-Edge" cocktails and a casual menu of burgers, pizzas, artisan sandwiches and seafood. Yoshiya has a traditional Japanese menu offering a sushi bar and meat and fish specialities.
The Sheraton Waikiki also offers the 'Stay At One, Dine At All' programme, where you can visit any of the restaurants in all the Starwood properties in Waikiki and recharge your bill back to your room.
For playtime, the Sheraton Waikiki has its' own Helumoa Playground featuring two fresh water swimming pools, a 15-foot high by 70-foot long water slide, a staging area for outdoor functions, two large whirlpools, an interactive fountain area for kids, fun and varied food and beverage outlets, chaise water sunning benches, and a pool hut where guests may borrow towels and purchase pool goods including sun products, inflatable floatation devices and toys.
The Sheraton Waikiki's new Infinity Edge pool offers unparalleled views of Waikiki Beach and is situated mere feet above the ocean level. The Infinity pool is available for guests 16 years older and has endless array of services such as lounge chairs with umbrellas, cold water misting, moist towels, mini DVD and MP3 players and fresh pineapple and fruit ices.
Beyond the main pool lies a stretch of sandy beach. During low tide, guests and families may sunbathe on the sand and enjoy the gentle saltwater waves. The beach is wider to the left and right of the hotel, so even at high tide, a sandy beach is only a short walk away. The summer months bring bigger surf to Waikiki, with swells up to 4-6ft, but with normally calm sea. The winter months bring very calm conditions, and as late as April, it is possible to see whales spouting and breaching. Turtles and dolphins are also spotted in Waikiki daily. There are surfing lessons available as well as surfboard and snorkeling equipment hire, Outrigger canoe rides and private charter Catamarans, all to occupy your day.
And when you want to slow down, the Spa Khakara can soothe away any stresses to leave you feeling totally relaxed.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Heathrow via Newark, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer daily flights from Anchorage, Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. However, they can offer a same day connection by using Virgin Atlantic's flight from Heathrow to LA, They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
Hawaiian Airlines: They provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air:
Offer a very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from
Heathrow via Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way
around.
Domestic Flights around the Islands
There are currently three domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Island Air, Hawaiian Airlines and Go!. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters between
the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this time, there are
no seaplanes available for chartering in the Hawaiian chain, which
is a little disappointing for flying boat fans!
Airline Seat Maps
For most airlines, we can pre-reserve seats for you once your flight booking is confirmed, and will do so as a matter of course. If you would like to have a look at a seat plan for your aircraft, check out the airlines own website, or one of the best independent websites for this information is SeatGuru.com, which is part of the Tripadvisor group.
