The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is situated right on the famous Waikiki Beach and went through a $110 million, top-to-bottom transformation just a few years ago (2016), with all new guest rooms and redesigned public areas.

The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach has 639 recently refubished rooms & suites spread throughout two towers, the Ocean Tower and the Pacific Tower.  All rooms have been completely rebuilt and redesigned, reducing the number of rooms by nearly 300 to increase the size of all rooms and suites, and decorating them with all new furniture, furnishings, amenities and decor. They offer light and comfortable accomodation, with soft colours of caramel and sand, classic style furniture and Hawaiian design soft furnishing.   The rooms have 1 King or 2 Double beds, ensuite bathroom with locally made complimentary toiletries, air conditioning, mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, alarm clock/radio with MP3 socket, 55" LCD flat-screen TV with cable channels and pay-per-view movies, work desk and chair, complimentary Wi-Fi in all rooms, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, in-room safe, and in most rooms, a private balcony with city or ocean views. Some rooms can have adjoining rooms, ideal for groups or families, and others also offer a double sofa bed, on request.

For groups or families, the very spacious suites are a good option.  Offered in 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms, each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and private lanai (balcony), and a shared, separate living room with sitting area, dining area and small wetbar area with sink and tea and coffee making facilities, and an additional bathroom.

There are 2 good value on-site restaurants, a beach-side bar/cocktail lounge, and a Starbucks coffee shop.  The casual Reef Bar & Market Grille Restaurant is open all day, and serves fresh breakfast, lunch and a la carte menus.  For dinner, you can pick your own hand-carved steak or fish, and actually grill it yourself on the open grills, or select from the main menu.  The Reef has an open air dining area, which have amazing sunset views, or you can order room service and dine on your balcony.

The other restaurant is the Kani Ka Pila Grille, located beside the pool deck, offers a wide breakfast menu, a lunch and dinner menu of fresh fish, ribs, sandwiches, burgers soups and salads, with evening pupus (small appetizer platters) as well as popular drinks and cocktails.  Live entertainment is available each evening between 6.00-9.00pm, and offers a selection of local musicians and groups, a different sound each day.

The Starbucks Coffee Shop, in the lobby, is open from 4.30am to 10.00pm, and offers the normal fare of coffees, drinks, snacks and pastries.

At the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach, there is an extensive pool area with spacious pool deck and plenty of sun loungers, with 3 separate jacuzzis, all recently refurbished and upgraded, a guest laundry, room service (06.30 to 10pm), activities desk, a well-equipped fitness centre, the Serenity Spa and daily Hawaiian cultural activities and entertainment.  The Beach Boys Activity service offers free land surfing clinics, to brush up on your technique, take lessons in surf or paddle boarding or do your choice of activites such as outrigger canoe, catamaran sailing, reef diving or body boarding.  Equipment can also be hired for many beach and water activites.  Also, the Outrigger Activities Center offers assistance with booking tours and activities all over the island, for when you want to venture further afield.

The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach is right on the beach and in the heart of Waikiki, and is only a short walk from all the shops, bars and restaurants, including the modern 8 acre Waikiki Beach Walk shopping mall.
