The Conrad Bora Bora Nui Resort and Spa, formally the Hilton Bora Bora Nui, is an all suite hotel which offers a standard of accommodation, furnishing and style that is normally associated with the luxury hotels to be found in the Far East and North America. The resort has been designed to appeal very much to the traveller who is looking to visit French Polynesia to experience the culture and the islands natural beauty but require the comfort of a traditional five star hotel, as well as the five star experience. The resort is built on the ocean side of the Toopua motu, one of Bora Bora's outer islands, on a 600 metre long white sand beach.
In 2011, they spent $5m refurbishing and updating the resort and the bungalows, to enhance the resort, and in 2016, when the property changed from being the Hilton and became the Conrad, a second round of major improvement and refurbishment, including the Overwater Bungalows, Garden Villas, Horizon Villas and Resort Rooms was completed.
The Tamure Grill and the Iriatai Restaurants, Spa, the gift shop/boutique, the reception, lobby and main building, as well as all the guest rooms and villas, were completely renovated and redesigned to give a more modern look, but still have a Polynesian feel.
There are five categories of suites to choose from: 9 Garden View Suites, 9 Lagoon View Suites, 7 Horizon View Villas (soon to be pool villas by December 2019), 10 Garden Villas (soon to be pool villas by December 2019), 2 Beach Pool Villas, 34 Overwater Villas, 32 Deluxe Overwater Villas, 16 Pool Overwater Villas, 2 Royal Pool Overwater Villas and 2 brand new 2-storey Presidential Overwater Villas. Also by May 2020, 2 of the Horizon View Pool Villas will have been extended to offer 2 bedrooms/bathrooms.
The spacious Garden and Lagoon View Suites are beautifully appointed with new contemporary furniture, with light and airy decor to give a modern Pacific feel. They feature air-conditioning, ceiling fans, a separate living area with sofa and table, CD/DVD players, satellite TV, 2 IDD telephones, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar/fridge, in-room safe, Wi-Fi internet access, and large Italian marble ensuite bathrooms with bathrobes, complimentary toiletries, separate toilet, double vanities, shower and whirlpool jacuzzi bath. They are located in a low, 2-storey building, in the centre of the resort overlooking the landscaped gardens, the beach and the lagoon, with sliding doors opening to a private balcony with sun loungers, divided bedroom and living room with sofa bed. They are available with a King bed or 2 Twin beds, and can have connecting rooms for families or groups.
The detached Garden and Hillside Villas are located around the gardens, the hillside and overwater into the lagoon. They have all the similar facilities as the Suites but also offer separate bedrooms with either 4-poster canopy King bed or 2 Twin beds, and have just been upgraded (Dec19) to add an extended terrace and a private plunge pool. The Royal Villas have more luxurious furnishing and large accommodations. Each overwater bungalow comes equipped with snorkels and masks, and glass floors to view the sealife without having to get wet. During the recent refurbishment, some Overwater Villas have been extended to include larger decks, private plunge pools and catamaran-style nets over the water.
The Presidential Villas are the ultimate in privacy and luxury. Located at the end of the overwater walkway, the 2-level Overwater Villas (the only ones in the Society Islands!) offer private check-in, complimentary champagne and fresh fruit on arrival, 2 separate bedroom wings, with 4-poster Canopy King beds, glass floors , their own dressing rooms, ensuite bathrooms with lagoon views from your bath, and your own private sun deck. There is a spacious living room in the centre section that opens to another 2 level sun deck with your own private plunge pool, a separate 'well-being' room for private massage treatments, (a 40-min massage is complimentary), and a further top floor sun deck, gazebo and jacuzzi.
The resort offers three restaurants and bars, to cater for all your dining requirements as well as 24 hour room service. The Iriatai Restaurant is located on the hillside overlooking the gardens and the lagoon, and serves a varied breakfast buffet, including fresh fruits, pastries, local dishes and hot items, with an a la carte menu available as well, and evening dinner, with a diverse Pacific-Rim and Mediterranean menu and amazing views over the lagoon. The beachside Tamure Beach Fare Grill and Bar offers fresh local favourites, the freshest local seafood and lighter meals with sand between your toes and local live entertainment with a traditional Polynesian buffet twice a week. Upa Upa Restaurant and Lounge Bar is open each evening serving light snacks and appetizers, along with sunset cocktails and drinks. The Ta Le Le Beach Bar is ideally found between the infinity pool and the beach and is a relaxed shoreline haven serving light snacks and cold cocktails and drinks.
For the active there is a fitness centre, a large infinity swimming pool, jogging trail, and all the normal watersport activities (powered activities with local charge), such as snorkelling, swimming, a fabulous white sand beach with sunloungers, kayaks/canoes, scuba diving and sailing. There is a guest library and lounge with a pool table, a gift and convenience store and an Activities Desk which can suggest and book a range of tours and excursions around the islands.
If you really want to pamper yourself then you have come to the right resort, as the hotel's Spa is one of the best to be found on Bora Bora. From the position of its three individual treatment bungalows which are located on top of the central ridge of the island, the Spa provides stunning views over the resort and the ocean, to enjoy whilst you take advantage of the full range of therapies that are available.
So if you want to stay in Paradise and at a reasonable price for the luxury, then the Conrad Bora Bora Nui could be the place for you.

Although there are frequent
international flights into Tahiti, there are limited airports of
embarkation to choose from, with currently only Paris, Los Angeles,
Auckland and Tokyo offering single plane air service to
Tahiti.
The international airline for French Polynesia. is Air Tahiti
Nui, who operate daily flights from Paris and Los
Angeles to Tahiti, and on some days there are additional fights
to/from Los Angeles. In addition, they operate two weekly flights
to/from Auckland and they serve Tokyo twice a week. Their services
to New York and Sydney have been suspended, at this
time.
Air France
currently offer a service from Paris, three times a week via Los
Angeles
Air New Zealand
operates daily flights via LA to Papeete, and 5 days a week from/to
Auckland with it's own aircraft. It also operates a codeshare
arrangements with Air Tahiti Nui providing seats on their fights
from Tahiti to Auckland and Los Angeles.
United Airlines operate 3 times
a week from San Francisco to Papeete, on Tuesday, Thursday and
Sunday, which will connect to their daily flight from
Heathrow.
Air Calin
operate a weekly flight between Noumea, in New Caledonia, and
Tahiti.
Hawaiian
Airlines provide a weekly service between Honolulu and
Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
LANChile
operate a flight once a week from Santiago to Tahiti via
Easter Island, providing the availability to do a great side trip
from Tahiti to Easter island.
Air Tahiti is
French Polynesia's domestic airline, which operates an extensive
domestic flight network covering all the country's main islands,
with at least a daily service. With the main Society islands
receiving a number of flights a day, since Air Moorea stopped
operations between Tahiti and Moorea, the flight connections now to
Moorea have become limited, most connections between the two are
now done by ferry boat.
The less populated and outer islands have a restricted service, so
sometimes a night stop in Tahiti may be required when connecting to
these islands.
Air Tahiti
provide the only air service between Tahiti and the Cook islands,
which they currently do once a week on a Thursday, an extra high
season flight is operated between June and August
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for private charters, but they all tend to be based in Tahiti so arranging charters between the outer islands can be expensive as the aircraft will originate and terminate in Tahiti. Tahiti Nui Helicopters are one such company that operate resort transfers (where helipad available), inter-island flights and sightseeing trips. Contact us for further info.
Airline Seat Maps
For most airlines, we can pre-reserve seats for you once your flight booking is confirmed, and will do so as a matter of course. If you would like to have a look at a seat plan for your aircraft, check the airlines' own website, or one of the best independent websites for this information is SeatGuru.com, which is part of the Tripadvisor group.
