The White Grass Resort is located on Tanna Island, just a short 35 min flight from Port Vila, and is nestled amongst six acres of beautifully landscaped cliff top gardens, with cliff paths leading down to a secluded white sand beach.

The property has just 14 individual bures, built by local craftsmen with local timber and and have just completed (2018) a full refurbishment, giving them a bright modern decor featuring local hardwood furniture, tropical patterned soft furnishings and local artwork.  They have 3 categories; Double Bure, Triple bure and 2-Bed Family Villa.  The 30sqm Double Bures offer 1 Queen/double bed, contemporary ensuite facilities with walk-in glass shower, designer vanities and complimentary toiletries, ceiling fans, mini-bar/fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, and a private verandah with sun chairs to enjoy the view of the tropical gardens and the ocean.  The Triple Bure is slightly larger at 40sqm and offers an extra single bed.  The 2-Bed Family Bures have 2 separate bedrooms with 2 ensuite bathrooms with walk-in glass showers and designer vanity, a spacious central living room with kitchenette, table and chairs sofas and large full width verandah with sun chairs to enjoy the tropical garden views.

The restaurant and bar is located in the main building's lounge, with panoramic views of the ocean from the inside dining room and outdoor terrace, and offers a daily changing menu of local and international dishes created by their talented chefs, using local organic farm meat and garden produce and freshly caught local fish and seafood.

White Grass Ocean Resort has a coral shelf on the shoreline, but they have a private jetty taking you to the edge of the shelf for great swimming and snorkelling at the shelf edge.  the PADI Dive centre can organise your diving trips  If you don't want to swim in the ocean, they have a small but perfectly formed pool with sun terrace and loungers to enjoy.  Bikes are available to guests as well as kayaks, badminton or beach volleyball net, putting green

One of main attractions on Tanna is the Yasur Volcano, and the resort organise daily excursions up the mountain to the active volcano (weather and volcanic activity permitting). Another attraction are visiting humpback whales, which can often be seen breaching right in front of the resort from July to September, and if feeling brave, you can snorkel at the coral shelf edge and watch them swim past.  You can also take a snorkelling tour to the outer reef and see turtles sculling beneath or around you.

For relaxing time, the resort  has a well regarded Spa, Nabisa Day Spa which has just been expanded due to its' popularity.  Be sure to make a reservation for your body and beauty treatments.

With paths meandering through manicured lawns and gardens planted with vibrant hibiscus hedges, colourful bougainvillea and coconut palms, snorkelling of the shelf, whales, volcanoes and great dining, the White Grass Ocean Resort is a wonderfully peaceful oasis from which to explore and enjoy all that Tanna has to offer the adventurous visitor.
