The Havannah is a a luxurious boutique property, located on the north-west coast of Efate Island, just 30 minutes drive from Port Villa.  Set on a secluded point with the wide beach going round at an almost 90° angle, the resort is surrounded on 2 sides by the warm crystal clear waters of the strait, looking across towards Lelepa and Tranquilty (Moso) Island.

The Havannah resort is a very small and personal resort, with a maximum of just 34 guests in the 17 modern and contemporary detached villas at any one time. There are 4 categories of villa: Garden Villa, Lagoon Pool Villa, Waterfront Villa and the Deluxe Waterfront Villa.

The 4 Garden Villas are located in the tropical landscaped gardens, with 3 just behind the Lagoon Pool Villas but with a view between them towards the pool and lagoon, and 1 just to the side. They offer a spacious room with a King size bed, ensuite bathroom with double vanity, large free-standing bathtub, walk-in shower, bathrobes, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, small fridge and mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, desk and chair, satellite TV with in-house movie system, Bose iPod sound dock, telephone, complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, in-room safe, air conditioning, ceiling fans and triple doors opening to a private terrace with double day bed and a private garden area with sun loungers.  The 5 Lagoon Pool Villas are set in a crescent above the split level infinity pool and offer the same amenities as the Garden Villas, but also have a sandy raised area above the split level infinity pool, with private sun loungers, and views of the pool, beach and the ocean.  The 6 Waterfront Villas face the beach to left and right of the main complex, and again, have the same amenities as the Garden Villa, but has a split level sleeping and sitting area, a private plunge pool, and overlook the beach and ocean.

The 2 brand new Deluxe Waterfront Villas are the newest villas at the property, and are available to book from July 2014.  They are a stunning mix of modern luxury and privacy, having a large private garden with a 7 metre infinity pool, a raised sundeck suspended over the beach, a separate thatched dining pavillion with its own barbecue, and separate swinging double day bed pavillion.  Inside there is a split level sleeping/living area with a King bed, large ensuite bathroom with indoor and outdoor baths and walk-in showers, plus all the standard amenities available in the other villas.

Dining at The Havannah is in the Point Restaurant, which has stunning 270° views over Havannah Harbour. The daily complimentary breakfast is served here, with a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, house-made pastries, local rustic breads, juices, teas and coffees plus your choice of hot, freshly cooked items, including pancakes with syrup, poached eggs, 3-egg omelettes or full cooked breakfast. The lunch and dinner menus offer a wide selection of meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian starters and entrees, using as much fresh local produce as possible.

There is a wide range of activities for you to do at The Havannah, and most of the in-resort activities are complimentary, including use of the tennis courts, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, snorkelling equipment and sailing catamarans. Divers can visit more than 15 excellent dive sites within a 15 minute boat ride from the resort jetty, with hard and soft coral reefs, teeming with tropical fish, and maybe even turtles and dugong as well. Sport and deep sea fishing is also just a 15 minute boat ride from the resort, and you could catch Tuna, Marlin Giant Trevally or even a Sailfish!  The Havannah can also arrange romantic susnet cruise, if you wish.

Although the resort is in a nice, quiet area, you are still close to all the sights and attractions on Efate, including the Cascade Waterfalls, the Summit Gardens, horse riding,  Port Vila town and the many walks, dive sites and day tours you can enjoy on the island.  Even walk to the rim and look into an active volcano!

The Havannah does provide a twice daily complimentary shuttle to Port Villa town, if you fancy somewhere different for lunch, or a spot of retail therapy.

For a little calm relaxation, the AromEssence Spa can offer a range of massage, body and beauty treatments for you to try.  Set in a secluded tropical garden, the Spa uses Dead Sea salt and mud products in their scrubs and masks, as well as hot volcanic stones and accupressure massages.

If you are getting married, The Havannah is an ideal location for a small, intimate ceremony, and you can even hire out the whole resort and have it all to yourself, your family and closest friends.  They have several ready-made packages to choose from, or you can tailor-make your day to your own design and desire.  They have several beautiful spots where you can tie the knot and the Point Restaurant has spectacular views for your reception.

If you are staying here for a honeymoon, you probably couldn't find a quieter, more romantic  place to stay in Vanuatu!  Your private villa, landscaped tropical grounds, a great pool and a stunning location with breathtaking views;  What more could you ask for on the most important trip of your married life!

The Havannah is not the cheapest property you could stay at in Vanuatu, but the addage 'you get what you pay for' certainly applies here, as the quality, luxury and excellent location are worth that little bit extra.  Throw in all the complimentary services and the stunning location and views, and it is definitely worth serious consideration as the place to stay for your trip to Vanuatu.
