This first class resort is located on Muri Lagoon and set in magnificent well kept tropical gardens including a picturesque meandering stream surrounded by waving palms and lush landscaped gardens.
The accommodation consists of 64 beautifully designed studios, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom suites and villas. The Standard Studios and Standard Family Rooms have just been completely refurbished, (August 2018), with new kitchen and bathrooms, interior and patio re-tiling and completely repainted throughout. The Standard Studios offer a King bed, ensuite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, air conditioning, TV with new on demand entertainment system, wet bar area with fridge, microwave, sink and tea and coffee making facilities, and sliding patio doors opening to a private furnished fully terrace or patio. The Standard Family rooms are the same as the Studios but have a slightly larger main room and a 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds.
All the Suites and villas offer 1 or 2 king beds and/or 2 large single beds, spacious lounge area, separate bathroom, kitchenette or a full kitchen and a patio with garden or beach views. Please note, the Beachfront Suites will have a full refurbishment and interior reconfiguration, between 9th-20th December 2019 and 15th January - 31st March 2020. This will include new kitchens and bathrooms, new paint, furnishings and new tiling inside and outside on the patio. They will be closed to guests during this time. When complete they will be classified as Premium Beachfront Suites.
The two storey, 2-bed villas have extra luxuries, including TV/video, hi-fi system and washing machine. The garden units are near the pool, set well back from the lagoon while the beach-front rooms are adjacent to the restaurant. All accommodation has its own patio or balcony, and depending on their location, offers lovely views of the gardens, the natural stream that runs from the mountains to the sea, Muri beach and the turquoise lagoon beyond.
The resort's restaurants, Sandals and the Barefoot Bar, overlook the beach and lagoon affording great views to go with the fine cuisine, from the freshest seafood and fresh fruit, vegetable and salads, to tempting Pacific and International cuisine.
There's plenty to keep you entertained at Pacific Resort Rarotonga. The property fronts onto Muri beach - Rarotonga's finest, and is sheltered by several offshore islands, making this an ideal location for windsurfing, snorkelling or other water activities, most of which are free. And for the less active you can relax on the beach or around the freshwater swimming pool (completely refurbished, with new capping, tiling and resurfacing of the pool terrace in 2018/19). Spend your days swimming, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking around the islands and its small islets, diving and snorkelling, discovering all that the lagoon has to offer, or join one of a number of organised tours - such as the Garden Tour, where you'll learn more about the impressive plants and flowers in the landscaped gardens - and enjoying a group class, where you can learn various cultural skills at the Beach Hut.
The Beach Hut team also runs the Kids Club, to give parents a little peace and quiet while the kids have a range of supervised activities to experience, as well as organising many fun activites for everyone of all ages.
The Resort also has its own 8.5 metre glass-bottomed boat operating excursions 6 days a week, right from the beachfront, offering cruises on the lagoon to explore coral gardens and view teeming tropical fish, followed by a BBQ lunch on Koromiri Island
You can relax and be pampered with a massage therapy or beauty treatment, either on the beach, or in your own room or you can just sunbathe on Rarotonga's premier beach, Muri Lagoon or round the fresh water pool. Refresh with a fresh fruit juice or sip on a tropical cocktail at the The Barefoot Bar and enjoy this tropical paradise.
Weddings are wonderful at the Pacific Resort, and throughout the year, they do sometimes have special offers on wedding packages, even free weddings with a minimum night (dates restricted).
Just remember: the most valued recreation here is pure relaxation! Do what you want, when you feel like it - this is your dream holiday, after all!
The Pacific Resort participates in the 'Dine Around the Island' special offer, with 5, 6 and 7 night packages. Please contact us for further information and prices

Currently, there are very limited International flight connections to and from the Cook islands. All international flights operate into Rarotonga and there are domestic connection flights into Aitutaki, Atiu and Mangaia.
The main international carrier is Air New Zealand, with direct air service provided six days a week from and to Auckland (currently there is no flight on a Friday), and once a week to and from Los Angeles, currently departing Rarotonga on a Friday arriving LA on the Saturday. The return flight leaves LA on Saturday and arrives Rarotonga on Sunday morning. They operate on a new B777-200ER aircraft, with 26 Business, 40 Premium Economy and 246 Economy seats. The Premium Economy seats are the first to be offered on this route.
There is also a year round once a week flight with Air New Zealand between Rarotonga and Sydney, departing Rarotonga on Thursday arriving Sydney on Friday and departing Sydney on Friday arriving in Rarotonga on Friday, operating on a B767-300 aircraft, with 24 Business and 206 Economy seats.
Virgin Australia operate 3 days a week from Auckland to Rarotonga, using a 737 aircraft, departing Auckland on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, arriving in Rarotonga the previous day (as you cross the International dateline), and returning flights Tuesday, Thursday and Friday arriving two days later (cross the International dateline again in the other direction adding a day, plus arriving after midnight into the next day) (schedule as of 15/10/15, subject to change without notice).
Also, for the winter months, (June-October 2016), they will be operating a direct flight Christchurch, on New Zealand's South Island, to Rarotonga. Departing on Saturday and arriving in Rarotonga on Friday (cross the date line), and returning the same day, Friday to arrive back in Christchurch on Sunday (date line and midnight time crossing), this will save visitors having to travel up to Auckland to get to the Cook Islands.
Jetstar,
a new airline starting in New Zealand, started a new flight
schedule from Auckland to Rarotonga in March 2016. At
present, they are planning to operate from and to Auckland on
Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, with the return flight being the same
days, due to arriving and departing after midnight, and will arrive
back in Auckland the following days, due to crossing the
international dateline.
Air Tahiti
operate up to twice weekly flights from Papeete, Tahiti to
Rarotonga, currently on a Saturday and Thursday. However,
on most weeks they only operate the
Thursday flight!
All
domestic flights within the Cook islands are operate by Air Rarotonga. Their main route
is Rarotonga to Aitutaki, on which they operate up to five daily
services, except Sunday, when only one is operated (up till the end
of 2009 no flights were permitted to operate domestically on a
Sunday).
They also provide frequent services to the other main islands in
the Southern group. However, air access to the Northern group
is currently very restricted, to the point where it is almost
impossible for tourists to book flights, due to the limited seats
that are offered. Quite a lot of the time, the
seats are reserved for Government officials and the local residence
of the Northern islands.
Airline Seat Maps
For most airlines, we can pre-reserve seats for you once your flight booking is confirmed, and will do so as a matter of course. If you would like to have a look at a seat plan for your aircraft, you can check the airlines' own website, or one of the best independent websites for this information is SeatGuru.com, which is part of the Tripadvisor group.
