The Seoul Plaza Hotel is right in the heart of Seoul, and is a good base to explore the city.

 

The Hotel has just completed an 8 month refurbishment of all the rooms and public areas, and opens again at the beginning of November 2010.

 

The Seoul Plaza offers 478 rooms, with 4 types of standard rooms in the tower, a Superior Room, a Business Room, a Deluxe Room and an On-Dol (Korean-style floor bed) Room, 4 high floors (17th - 21st) of Club rooms, with Superior, Deluxe and Business rooms, and 4 grade of Suites.

 

Superior Rooms and Deluxe Rooms offer 1 King bed (or 2 twin beds on request), ensuite facilities with complimentary toiletries, satelite TV, On-demand Movies, in-room safe, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, telephone, bottled water and Wi-Fi Internet access (fee).  Deluxe rooms are larger with more luxurious furnishings and are on higher floors with great views of Seoul Plaza and the city.  Business Rooms are a 2 room suite-style room, with separate bedroom, comfortable living room with desk, mini bar and ensuite bathroom with separate shower and complimentary luxury toiletries.  There is also 2 Korean-style Ondol Rooms, with a traditional Korean floor bed and Korean decor and furniture.

 

The Superior, Deluxe and Business Rooms on the Club Floors have the same facilities as the Normal rooms, but with the added facilities of personal fax machine and free high speed Wi-Fi, plus all the amenities of the Club Floor and Club Lounge, such as complimentary breakfast at the Club Floor Sky Lounge, complimentary drinks and snacks every evening, complimentary access to the Fitness Center, with the swimming pool, sauna, gym and fitness room, express check-in and check-out at the Hospoitality Lounge in the lobby and comfortable exclusive lounge.

 

There are 4 types of Suites available; Plaza Suites, Residential Suites, an Ondol Suite and the Royal Suite.  All the Suites have separate bedrooms with King size beds, separate living room, ensuite marble bathrooms with separate shower and luxurious complimentary toiletries, spacious and elegant interior decor and fantastic city views from being on the higher floors.

 

There are a few varied restaurants on site, including a Korean Buffet, Japanese, Italian and Western cuisine and a Deli and Coffee Shop.

 

Seven Square offers all day buffets with European and Korean cuisine, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and an afternoon dessert buffet, for sweet-toothed visitors.

 

Tao Yuen has an extensive chinese menu, whilst Tuscany offers traditional Italian cooking , from a real Italian chef.  At Kotobuki, you can enjoy fresh Japanese cuisine, including sushi and tempura, all individually tailored to your taste.

 

For more casual dining, snacks and beverages, the Plaza Pub offers pizza and snacks, in a pub atmosphere, The Deli Plaza, a French-style bakery serves over 180 kinds of breads, cakes, fruit, jams, sausages, fresh sandwiches, chocolate, wine as well as British Royal teas and fresh coffee, and Fontana, the Lobby Lounge bar, offers traditional Korean and Western drinks and teas, with live music available some nights.

 

The Seoul Plaza has the Plaza Spa Club and Fitness centre available for guests to use, located on the 15th-18th floors of the annex building just next door to the main tower.  The high floors offer fantastic city views from a number of the facilities. They offer a fitness centre, health club, swimming pool, saunas, aerobic studio, lounges and indoor golf practice range, while the Spa offers many treatments for health and relaxation.  Fitness facilities are free to use if you are reserved in a Club Room or Suite, but there are charges for some services in Normal rooms.

 

In the basement levels there is a large shopping arcade, with a Laundry & Dry Cleaners, Plaza flower Shop, amenities and drug store, a beauty salon, and a mens tailors, offering tailor-made and ready-made menswear.
