The Amanaki Hotel is a fairly recently opened good, budget hotel, situated on a peninsula in Apia Harbour, right in the centre of downtown Apia, and close to the marina, CBD, shops and restaurants. A local family-owned property, The Amanaki, which means 'hope', was the dream of Kim and Beverly Levi, but was only realised after Kim sadly passed. The family designed the hotel and pool, and planted the gardens, and used decor and furniture that had been handmade locally.
They offer just 20 rooms, 9 Standard King rooms and 11 larger Deluxe Rooms, all with harbour views. The Standard Rooms offer 1 King bed, fully tiled ensuite bathroom with wet-room style shower and complimentary toiletries, air conditioning, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, telephone, TV (local channels only), Wi-Fi internet access (fee), work desk and chair, and sliding patio doors opening to a private furnished balcony or garden patio, with views of the pool and the harbour. An extra single bed can be added on request.
The Deluxe Rooms are larger than the Standard rooms, and additionally offer 2 double beds (again a single bed can be added on request), and a sofa with coffee table. They are mostly on the 2nd and 3rd floors, so have a balcony with pool and sea views.
The Amanaki Hotel Restaurant is open all day (except Sunday lunchtimes) and offers a simple menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, including freshly cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, chicken, burgers and fresh local fish. The owners of the hotel also own a fishing boat, so get the first pick of the catch of the day, everyday, so great fish, at a good price, is always on the menu.
The landscaped tropical gardens are well looked after by the family, and the free-form pool is a little oasis set in these gardens. As a small property, they don't offer loads of amenities on site, but the friendly staff are more than happy to advise places to go or visit, or to help you book tours and excursions in the area, if you wish.
The Amanaki Hotel is a good value budget hotel, in a great location for all that Apia, and the rest of the island has to offer.
