The Sinalei is Samoa's newest hotel and is located on a shallow cliff overlooking its own private white sand beach on the south coast of the main island, Upolu, just a short 30 minute drive from Apia.

 

The location has a history, as it was once the site where the great Samoan warriors would feast themselves and rejuvenate their energy prior to going off to war! The site is still the perfect place to rejuvenate yourself,  but maybe the only aggressive action you will be called upon to perform now is to rub your partner with suntan oil! - unless you get very competitive in a game of beach volleyball, that is!

 

The Resort was severely damaged in September 2009 by a tsunami but has been completely rebuilt better than before. designed with breathtaking landscaping in keeping with its natural surroundings and all the buildings have been refurbished to a traditional Samoan style with a great deal of wood and volcanic black rock.

 

The accommodation is offered in 16 fales that are arranged on the hillside, amongst lush tropical gardens, overlooking the beach and the ocean. All are well equipped with a King-size bed, a single rollaway bed, ensuite bathroom, some with open-air shower in a tropical atrium, comfortable lounge area. tea/coffee facilities, refrigerator, air-conditioning and furnished verandah.

 

There are a number of activities to keep you busy , many of them are complimentary, and they have their own glass bottom boat and fishing boat to enjoy.  There is lots to do including island tours, boat tours, sport fishing, glass-bottom boat tour, beach volleyball, snorkelling, surfing, kayaking and Samoan traditional storytelling at the daily afternoon tea by the pool.

 

To help you relax, there is The Spa at Sinalei, with many varied massages and treatments, a sparkling pool, when you want a change from the white sand and turquoise ocean, 2 Gift Shops and 2 bars and restaurants.
