Le Lagoto Resort, which is Samoan for 'sunset', is to be found on Samoa's North island of Savaii, on the northern coast near the village of Fagamalo. Located on a secluded white, sandy beach fringed by coconut palms and crystal clear waters, Le Lagoto is a small, boutique resort which offers many of the modern conveniences of a large resort in an intimate, idyllic setting.
Le Lagoto offers 10 individual Samoan-style Fales (bungalows), the 5 Beachfront Fales and 5 Oceanside Fales.
The Beachfront Fales are located right on the shore line, set above a raised and tropically planted sea wall with a few steps down to the water. The Ocean View Fales are a little way behind the Beach Fales, amongst the tropical planting, with views through to the lagoon. Each Fale is decorated in traditional Samoan style, with natural wood, plants and rattan furniture and offer a Queen bed with Mosquito nets (on request), ensuite bathroom with shower and hairdryer, a small sitting area with comfortable chairs, table and a work desk, tea and coffee making facilities, small fridge, TV, IDD telephone, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, and a west-facing private furnished patio, to get the best view of the stunning sunsets.
Le Lagoto Restaurant is
traditionally built in the Samoan style, using local timber, with a
large outdoor, beachside deck that offers stunning views
of the ocean. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a
varied menu featuring many locally produced fruits and vegetables,
and locally caught fresh seafood. There is a good selection
of Australian and New Zealand wines to choose from, and at
Hans' Bar you can sample cocktails, including an amazing Pina
Colada made with freshly squeezed coconut milk and pineapple
juice, and Samoa's local Vailima beer.
The Resort can arrange island tours to all of the most popular natural and historical sights and attractions on Savaii, and can include guide, driver, air-conditionied vehicle, picnic lunches and cold drinks. There is a small Library and reading area, a swimming pool that is right on the beachfront, with an infinity edge offering an uninterupted view across the Lagoon, and sun loungers to relax in the sun. There is also traditional live entertainment each week.
The Le Lagoto Spa, Bodyworks, offers a range of massages and beauty treatments, from body scrubs, waxing and hand and foot care, to cooling papaya treatments for sunburnt skin. Many products are from natural sources, such as virgin coconut oil and tiare flowers.
Just across the road from the Resort is a PADI registered Dive shop, Dive Savaii, who can organise dive trips for different experince levels, from basic to challenging, snorkeling tours and hire snorkeling equipment, and a small general store offering local crafts, souvenirs, ice creams and general supplies and groceries.
This property is not named Le Lagoto (Samoan for 'sunset') for nothing - the Resort faces west across the Lagoon, to give stunning sunset views each evening, either from your private patio or from the Restaurant and Bar deck, and each sunset will be totally different from the last!
Children are welcome at Le Lagoto and the Resort can provide high chairs, cots, baby baths, child minding service and a kids menu at the Restaurant. Children 0-5 years stay free with parents using existing bedding or cot. Child rates apply thereafter, with a maximum of 1 child per adult up to 2 children per Fale or apartment. Children 6-11 years pay 50% of extra person rate and children 12 years and up pay full extra person rate.
Round trip transfers can be arranged on request. The Resort is 40 minutes from the Savaii Wharf, where the ferry docks. The ferry from Upolu, and the International Airport, takes approximately 1 hour.

There are regular regional
international flight connections to and from the Samoan Islands and
all international flights that do operate, do so into Apia on the
island of Upolu. Currently there are no international flights
into the second Island of Savai'i.
Samoas' main carrier is Virgin Samoa, formerly Polynesian Blue, which is a joint company operated by Virgin and the Samoan government. Along with Virgin Australia they operate regular services to Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, with connections to many other Australian cities, but they do not currently operate any flights outside the southwest pacific region. The country's other carrier is Polynesian Airlines which operates the daily " air-bridge " between Apia and Pago Pago in American Samoa.
Fiji Airways, (was Air Pacific) operate a twice weekly service between Apia and Nadi which provide connections to their Nadi-Los Angeles, and Nadi-Hong Kong service, or other airines flights departing Nadi, but this will require a 1 night stop over in Nadi due to flight timings.
The main long haul airline providing same service to the USA and Europe is Air New Zealand, with direct service to/from Auckland, provided four days a week (some seasonal variations apply) and there is a weekly non-stop flight to and from Los Angeles, currently departing Apia on Monday nights arriving LA on Tuesday. The return flight leaves LA on a Tuesday and arrives Apia on Wednesday morning. Currently, one of the Air New Zealand flights routes via Tonga providing the only air service between Samoa and Tonga.
At present, there are no domestic flights within the Samoan islands and connections from Upolu to Savai'i are at this time only provided by car ferry ship, which provides frequent daily sailings between the two main islands, and takes
approximately 1 hour.
Prices are based on a per room, per night basis which includes a Tropical Breakfast. Discounts may be available for stays of 4-7 nights or more. Please enquire for further information on the dates you wish to travel. Special offers may change at any time, without notice.
