Le Lagoto Resort, which is Samoan for 'sunset', is to be found on Samoas' North island of Savaii, on the northern coast near the village of Fagamalo. Located on a secluded white, sandy beach fringed by coconut palms and crystal clear waters, Le Lagoto is a boutique resort which offers many of the modern conveniences of a large resort in an intimate, idyllic setting.
Le Lagoto offers 2 styles of accommodation, from 10 individual Samoan-style Fales (bungalows) and a Beach House with 2 individual Apartments.
The Beach Fales are located right on the beachfront, and the Ocean View Fales are a little way behind the Beach Fales, amongst the tropical planting, with views through to the beach and the lagoon. Each Fale is decorated in traditional Samoan style, with natural wood, plants and rattan furniture and offer a Queen bed, ensuite facilities, a small sitting area, and a west-facing private patio, to get the best view of the stunning sunsets.
The Beach House Apartments are available individually, or can be booked together for larger groups or families. The upstairs apartment has a bedroom with four-poster King bed, sitting area, tea/coffee making facilities, and private verandah. The downstairs apartment is much bigger and offers 2 large bedrooms with 1 queen and 1 single bed, kitchen, dining room, living room and 2 outdoor seating patios. Both apartments also have air conditioning, Television, IDD telephone, ensuite facilities with hot water showers and ceiling fans.
Le Lagoto Restaurant is traditionally built in the Samoan style,
using local timber, with a large outdoor,
beachside deck that offers stunning views of the
ocean. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a varied
menu featuring many locally produced fruits and vegetables, and
locally caught fresh seafood. There is a good selection
of Australian and New Zealand wines to choose from, and at
Hans' Bar you can sample cocktails, including an amazing Pina
Colada made with freshly squeezed coconut milk and pineapple
juice, and Samoa's local Vailima beer.
The Resort can arrange island tours to all of the most popular
natural and historical sights and attractions on Savaii,
and can include guide, driver, air-conditionied vehicle, picnic
lunches and cold drinks. There is a small Library and reading
area, a swimming pool that is right on the beachfront,
with an infinity edge offering an uninterupted view across the
Lagoon, and sun loungers to relax in the sun. There is
also traditional live entertainment each week.
The Le Lagoto Spa, Bodyworks, offers a range of massages and beauty treatments, from body scrubs, waxing and hand and foot care, to cooling papaya treatments for sunburnt skin. Many products are from natural sources, such as virgin coconut oil and tiare flowers.
Just across the road from the Resort is a PADI registered Dive shop, Dive Savaii, who can organise dive trips for different experince levels, from basic to challenging, snorkeling tours and hire snorkeling equipment, and a small general store offering local crafts, souvenirs, ice creams and general supplies and groceries.
This property is not named Le Lagoto (Samoan for 'sunset') for nothing - the Resort faces west across the Lagoon, to give stunning sunset views each evening, either from your private patio or from the Restaurant and Bar deck, and each sunset will be totally different from the last!
