Fairlie is a small rural town right
in the centre of the South Island, in the Canterbury Region and is
on the Tourist Highway between Christchurch and Queenstown.
This relaxed and friendly town has
a village feel and is an ideal place to spend a day or three,
whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or an
action-packed adventure!
Being close to 3 of the main ski
fields, Mount Dobson, Fox Peak and Roundhill, you can ski in the
morning and spend the afternoon checking out the local shops,
having a picnic in one of the local parks and gardens, have a round
of golf, or take a boat or fishing trip on the nearby lakes and
rivers.
When you feel peckish, there is a
number of dining establishments to choose, from inviting cafes
and coffee shops, to a la carte gourmet restaurants.
Being a small town, there are
not lots of huge, big name hotels, but there are a large number of
charming bed & breakfast residences, nice, small motels and
hotels, and authentic working family farms to stay at.
