Doubtless Bay and surrounding areas
Doubtless Bay, in
north-east of the Northland peninsular, has over 43miles (70km) of
natural, pristine coastline with many beautiful safe and uncrowded
beaches. The Bay extends from Karikari Peninsula in the west,
round to Taupo Bay in the east, offering long, wide, golden sand
beaches with rolling waves, secluded, sandy coves or rugged,
rocky inlets, with great diving and snorkelling.
Surrounded by lush green hills,
verdant rainforest and picturesque river valleys, there
are numerous small towns and villages around the large,
natural bay to explore. They all have shops, restaurants
and cafes to try out, as well many normal tourist activities, such
as walking and hiking around the many parks, reserves and the
surrounding countryside, horse riding, quad biking, golfing, arts
and crafts galleries, food and wine tasting and many land and
water tours and excursions. There is a huge range of water
activities to experience, such as diving and snorkelling with
dolphins, sharks and a huge variety of fish, sailing, kayaking,
surfing, kite and windsurfing, swimming, and fishing.
There are hundreds of eating places
around the Doubtless Bay area, from quaint cafes and quick
