The brand new Tarawa Boutique Hotel is a 3-storey hotel right in the heart of Bairiki town, close to the wharf and approximately 40 minutes scenic drive from the Airport.  The Hotel is part of a new purpose-built complex, which includes a shopping mall and retail units, a cinema and offices, along with the hotel.

They offer just 40 rooms on the first and second floors; 24 Deluxe rooms with balconies, 4 family rooms and 12 Standard rooms, which overlook the bustling shopping mall.  The Standard Rooms provide 1 King bed, air conditioning, ensuite facilities with shower, hairdryer, mini bar/fridge with bottled water (on request), tea and coffee making facilities, satellite TV and DVD player, IDD telephone, work desk and chair, Wi-Fi internet access, alarm clock/radio, fresh flowers and in-room insect repellant.  Deluxe rooms offer the same amenities as the Standard room but additionally offer a private balcony with city views.  Family rooms again, offer the same amenities as the Standard rooms but are larger and additionally provide 1 King bed plus either 2 Twin or 2 Bunk beds, kitchenette area with cooking facilities, dining table and chairs, and iron and ironing board.  Family, Standard and Deluxe Rooms on the second floor attract a small premium as they offer a different satellite TV package, which offers up to 22 channels, as opposed to the 4 channels in other rooms.

The Hotel reception and lobby is on the ground floor, along with the main office, the bar, a coffee shop/restaurant, business centre, tours desk, reading room, and conference room.

The bar is well stocked with a range of mainly Australian and New Zealand beer, spirits and wines, plus some international brand spirits and soft drinks.  The restaurant and coffee shop offers a modest menu offering local and western dishes, for lunch and dinner, and a continental and full American-style breakfast, plus a range of coffee shop treats and freshly brewed or barista coffees, teas and cold drinks and juices.

Nearby, there are a number of local bars and restaurants to try if you fancy a night out, and other than the shopping mal attched to the hotel, the town centre shops are just a short walk away, as is a number of tourist attractions, banks and offical residences and Embassies.

The Tarawa Boutique Hotel is not a luxury hotel by western standards, but it offers good quality accommodation at a very reasonable price, in a great location in the centre of town, but close to anything you might want to do, explore or experience in Tarawa and Kiribati
