A luxury retreat, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa offers a very high standard of accommodation and service. It is set in 50 acres fronting the Pacific Ocean on Keoneloa Bay, boasting the best year round sunshine record of the island of Kauai.
Situated approximately 20 minutes from Lihue Airport, the resort's facilities include 600 spacious rooms and suites elegantly furnished with an Hawaiian Plantation-style decor.
They offer 5 categories of Guest rooms; Garden View, Mountain View, Royal Garden,
Partial Ocean View and Deluxe Ocean View. All rooms offer 1 King or 2 Queen-size beds, air conditioning, ceiling fans, ensuite bathroom with double sink vanity unit, bath with shower, hairdryer, robes and complimentary toiletries, 37" flat screen TV with satelite and cable channels and on demand video, iHome stereo with iPod/MP3 dock, 3 IDD telephones, in-room safe, tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board, small fridge and private patio or lanai to enjoy lovely views of the garden, pools, mountains and the ocean. They also offer guest rooms on their Club Floor. Grand Club rooms include upgraded furnishings and amenities, and additionally offer access to the private Club Lounge which offers a dedicated Concierge, complimentary Continental breakfast, evening cocktails with hors d'oeuvres as well as full admission to the Spa.
There are also 3 choices of Suites at the Grand Hyatt, the Ocean Suite, the Deluxe Ocean Suite and the Presidential Suite. The Suites offer extra space, separate bedrooms, separate living rooms, wet bar area, dining area, as well as upgrade facilities, like a spa bath and a 42" Plasma TV. The Presidential Suite offers luxurious and spacious accommodation in a premier penthouse location, with great views from a private terrace furnished with padded teak sun loungers.
Guests can dine in ambiences as varied as a thatched hut on a lagoon, in marble elegance savouring Italian cuisine, or casual dining surrounded by lush gardens and pools filled with tropical fish.
Italian-villa style Dondero's offers an award-winning Italian menu with an extensive wine list. Ilima Terrace serves filling breakfasts and lunches with a light and varied selection. Tidepools offers contemporary Hawaiian-Pacific Rim cuisine in open air hale pili (thatched huts) surrounded by waterfalls and koi ponds. The Dock offers casual lunches and snacks close t the pools, lagoon and beach. The Yum Cha Asian Eatery overlooks the famous Poipu Golf Club where you can enjoy oriental-pacific inspired menu. There is also the traditional Hawaiian Luau, with a huge buffet, open bar, dancers and cultural demonstrations.
Numerous lounges and bars provide venues for quiet relaxation and evening entertainment, such as Stephensons Library, the Captain's Bar, the Shipwreck Bar and the Seaview Terrace, all offering extensive wine lists, favourite tipples and tropical cocktails to enjoy.
The Resort has two fresh water pools with waterfalls, connecting 'River Pools' and a waterslide, a large salt-water lagoon, to snorkel and kayak, all in five acres of beach-rimmed gardens and opportuniites to enjoy many watersports. There is also flood-lit tennis courts, mountains bikes to hire and the Camp Hyatt Kauai Kids Club, providing an activity programme for children aged 3-12 years.
The magnificent Anara Spa and fitness centre offers a selection of luxurious treatments including Hawaiian skin therapy and massages. The Poipu Bay Golf Club, a championship golf course and home of the 1995-2006 Mastercard PGA Grand Slam is right next door and horseriding, tours and other sightseeing experiences are available nearby to the more active visitor.

Children of all ages are welcomed and well catered for. Children 18 years old and under stay FREE when they share the room with accompanying adults and use the existing beds.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Continental: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester via Newark, New York, to Honolulu. They also have non-stop flights from Houston to Honolulu
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
US Airways: Currently, no US Airways flights from the UK make a same day connection to their flights to the Hawaiian islands, so an overnight stay will be required. They operate non-stop flights from Phoenix to Maui , Honolulu, (Oahu), Kauai and Hawaii Big Island
.
Hawaiian Airlines: They
provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West
to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San
Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in
connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They
also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti,
currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air: Offer a
very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via
Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently four domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Go and Kahalau. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters
between the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this
time, there are no seaplanes available for chartering in the
Hawaiian chain, which is a little disappointing for flying boat
fans!

The Ocean Suite and Deluxe Ocean Suite offer all the features of the Guest Rooms, as well as separate bedrooms and living areas, dining area, luxurious ensuite bathrooms, upgraded facilities and furnishings and large furnished balcony. An adjoining Guest Room can be added to make them into 2-Bedroomed Suites.
