This prestigious five diamond hotel is situated in the three miles of sunny Mauna Lani Bay beach along the Kohala coast and offers 3,200 acres of landscaped gardens and traditional ancient fishponds.
The fishponds around the Resort were a Hawaiian tradition, being made with barricaded entrances to allow small fish in from the seaward side, but once they grew in size, were too big to return to the open ocean, making it easy for Hawaiian fisherman to catch something for dinner without having to take to the Ocean.
The Mauna Lani Bay offers 340 rooms, 10 suites, 11 villas and 5 stunning, secluded bungalows.
The Standard Guest rooms are well appointed and elegantly furnished in cool tones of white, cream & polished teak. All rooms have 1 King or 2 Double beds, a fridge, tea & coffee facilities, LCD TV, 2 IDD telephones, complimentary Internet and WiFi access, in-room movies, electronic in-room safe, en-suite facilities, hairdryers, bathrobes, twice daily maid service and a spacious private lanai, most of which overlook the Pacific & the beautiful coastline.
The 1-bedroom Ocean View and Ocean Front Suites are located on the upper floors and offer all the facilities of the Standard Guest Rooms, but have a separate bedroom with ensuite facilities and a separate living room with wet bar, dining table and chairs and doors opening onto a large furnished private lanai.
The 1-, 2- or 3-bedroomed Ocean villas are located in low-rise buildings facing the beach and the Pacific Ocean and all have well equipped full sized kitchens, living/dining areas, laundry facilities & private lanai. These villas are ideal for families looking for extra space or an island retreat of their own! As the Villas are independently owned, decor may vary in each Villa.
Most impressive are the five spacious and beautifully appointed bungalows. Each bungalow has 4,000 sq ft of luxury, including 2 master bedroom suites each with master bath with whirlpool spa bath and shower/steam bath, kitchen, spacious living & dining areas, private lanai with garden area, private pool and round-the-clock butler service.
The Mauna Lani offers a selection of restaurants to choose from, sometimes with traditional live Hawaiian entertainment. The open-air beachfront Canoe House features award-winning Hawaiian cuisine and island fresh sushi with magnificent ocean and sunset views. Classic and contemporary American cuisine as well as Breakfast buffets can be enjoyed in the Bay Terrrace situated by the meandering fishponds. There is also burgers, sandwiches, salads & wraps available at the poolside Ocean Grill and at Huli Sue's at the Golf Clubhouse. There is also additional dining options and the nearby 'The Shops at Mauna Lani'
Tennis enthusiasts have a choice of 6 championship courts of varying speeds, and the first hour is complimentary. A professional is on hand to arrange tournaments or clinics if you wish. The Francis H I'i Brown Golf Complex offers two 18 hole championship golf courses set by the ocean.
There is also a well-equipped fitness club with many complimentary yoga & fitness classes,lap pool, free bicycles to tour the Resort, complimentary Hawaiian weaving and Ukelele and flower lei making classes, sand volleyball, historic and educational tours, a daily Children's Camp and many other water sports & complimentary activities to choose from.
Every 4th July, they have a Turtle Independance Day Celebration and release green Hawaiian turtles that have been bred in the Turtle Sanctuary, to help this endangered species survive and thrive.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are catered for, with great active Children's Camp. Up to 2 children 13 years old and under stay FREE when they share the room with accompanying adults and use the existing beds.
Airport Transfers
Round trip airport transfers are £59 per person. However, we strongly recommend that you take car hire whilst staying on the Big Island as it will greatly enhance the enjoyment of your stay.
The resort is 23 miles from Kona Airport.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Continental: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester via Newark, New York, to Honolulu. They also have non-stop flights from Houston to Honolulu
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
US Airways: Currently, no US Airways flights from the UK make a same day connection to their flights to the Hawaiian islands, so an overnight stay will be required. They operate non-stop flights from Phoenix to Maui , Honolulu, (Oahu), Kauai and Hawaii Big Island
.
Hawaiian Airlines: They
provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West
to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San
Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in
connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They
also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti,
currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air: Offer a
very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via
Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently four domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Go and Kahalau. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters
between the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this
time, there are no seaplanes available for chartering in the
Hawaiian chain, which is a little disappointing for flying boat
fans!
