The Royal Kona Resort overlooks the brilliant waters of Kailua Bay on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is just a few minutes stroll from the quaint village of Kailua-Kona and nine miles from Keahole-Kona Airport.
Set in twelve acres of grounds, the hotel has three towers providing 436 well appointed rooms and suites with private lanai views of the pacific, lush green gardens or the Kailua-Kona village. The central Alii Tower has an open-air lobby, Front Desk, Don the Beachcomber signature restaurant, Don's Mai Tai Bar and sundry shop. The Bay Tower is the north building closest to the village of Kailua-Kona and houses the massage and spa center. The Lagoon Tower is the south building located next to the private beach and saltwater lagoon and is the location for the beauty salon and self-service laundry room. The Bay Tower was refurbished in 2010 offering comfortable, value guestrooms. The Lagoon & Alii Tower was remodeled in 2007 with re-designed bathrooms, bedrooms and soft furnishings. All rooms offer ensuite facilities, air conditioning, Cable TV, mini fridge, in-room safe and private lanai (balcony). Each building has non smoking floors and on request, disabled facilities will be provided.
Typical Hawaiian fare is offered at the oceanfront Don the Beachcomber Restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner and boasts one of Kona's finest breakfast buffets as well as a variety of a la carte menu items. Open throughout the week for dinner, days and hours vary seasonally, this unique circular venue not only provides stunning sunset views from every seat but offers customers mouth-watering Pacific Fusion cuisine, Prime Rib and Seafood selections made with the Island's freshest, local ingredients. Don's Mai Tai Bar, the largest open-air, oceanfront bar in Kailua-Kona, offers a dramatic venue set against the backdrop of Kailua Bay. Select from a variety of over 10 types of Mai Tais, Hawaiian specialty drinks and complete cocktail service in Kona's most spectacular location. Lunch and appetizers are served daily. With 360° views of the Pacific Ocean and Kailua Bay, the bar features scheduled live entertainment while HD televisions broadcast current sporting events
The Resort also hosts a traditional Luau 3 times a week, where you can enjoy an evening of music and dance in a dynamic show and a full island buffet
The hotel has a private beach, a freshwater split-level swimming pool and a private, enclosed salt-water lagoon, which is ideal for learning to snorkel, before expanding your experience on the stunning reef just off the main beach. There are 4 floodlit tennis courts, with Pro tennis coaches available for lessons, a Fitness Centre, The Massage and Spa centre and the activities desk provides information on golf, horseriding and other sports.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcomed and well catered for. Children 17 years old and under stay FREE when they share the room with accompanying adults and use the existing beds.
Airport Transfers
Round trip airport transfers are £59 per person. However, we strongly recommend that you take car hire whilst staying on the Big Island as it will greatly enhance the enjoyment of your stay.
The resorts is 15mins from Keahole-Kona airport.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Continental: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester via Newark, New York, to Honolulu. They also have non-stop flights from Houston to Honolulu
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
US Airways: Currently, no US Airways flights from the UK make a same day connection to their flights to the Hawaiian islands, so an overnight stay will be required. They operate non-stop flights from Phoenix to Maui , Honolulu, (Oahu), Kauai and Hawaii Big Island
.
Hawaiian Airlines: They
provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West
to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles,
San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San
Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in
connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They
also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti,
currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air: Offer a
very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via
Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently four domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Go and Kahalau. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters
between the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this
time, there are no seaplanes available for chartering in the
Hawaiian chain, which is a little disappointing for flying boat
fans!
Pricing Policy
Prices are based on a per room, per night room only basis for single or twin occupancy. Additional meal plan prices available on request.
Room prices increases by approximatley 35% and have 5 night
minimum stay between dates 4-9 October 2010, due to very
popular Ironman Marathon event at the Royal Kona Resort.
