The small but charming Hotel Lanai is located right in the centre of Lanai City (more a small town than city) but is surrounded by tall pine and palm trees, giving lovely dappled shade in the hot Hawaiian sun. Built in the 1930's as lodging for the Dole Company executives, the Hotel Lanai has just had a full refurbishment to bring the property into the 21st century, but still retain it's retro lodge feel.
With just 11 rooms, the Hotel Lanai is not a huge property, and the cosy rooms are offered in 3 categories; Lanai, Garden and Premium Garden room. The Lanai and Garden Rooms offers 1 King or Queen bed with new luxury linens, warm wood panelling and grasscloth wall coverings, modern ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower, air conditioning, TV. The Premium Garden Rooms are slightly larger and offer 2 Queen beds and the Lanai Rooms also offer a covered verandah with rocking chairs overlooking the gardens or Dole Park. Some rooms are interconnecting, ideal for families or friends travelling together. There is also a detached Cottage Room, but at present (Feb19), it is still be refurbished. Further details will be added when available.
Dining at the property is at the Lanai City Bar and Grille, which is popular with locals, visitors and guests alike. They serve an eclectic menu of Asian, indian and Pacific Rim dishes with Hawaiian flair, such as Mahi Mahi, fresh Tuna and salmon, slow cooked short ribs chicken, pork, fresh salads and tasty appetisers and desserts. Sunday brunch is very popular and is available between 10am-2pm. The bar serves a good selection of popular drinks, including some chilled and refreshing cocktails.
Being right in the 'city' in the centre of the island, the hotel offers easy access to everything you might want to visit or do on the island
Child Policy
Children 7 years and under stay free with accompanying adults when using existing bedding. Rollaway beds are not permitted and 1 portable crib is allowed in rooms, on request and subject to availability.

Round trip airport transfers are available on request. If hiring a car, free car parking is available on site.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Heathrow via Newark, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Anchorage, Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. However, they can offer a same day connection by using Virgin Atlantic's flight from Heathrow to LA, They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
Hawaiian Airlines: They provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean
Air: Offer a very competitive price for
flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Seoul in South Korea, but it
is the long way around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently two domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Aloha Island Air and Hawaiian Airlines. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters between
the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this time, there are
no seaplanes available for chartering in the Hawaiian chain, which
is a little disappointing for flying boat fans!
