We feel that the St Regis Princeville is the jewel in the Starwood group's Hawaiian crown.  Set in 23 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens on the side of Pu'u Poa Ridge, on Kauai's northeast corner, the setting is truly spectacular.

 

The Resort looks over Hanalei Bay towards Bali Hai mountain, the very one that was the back drop to the Rogers and Hammerstein film, South Pacific.  The beach scenes in the film were actually shot on the beach that now forms the resort's private beach.

 

The St Regis Princeville was recently renovated and refurbished in 2008, and the Hotel has recaptured a luxurious old world elegance but with a modern and contemporary  feel.

 

The resort has 252 rooms and suites, offering 5 categories of room accommodation to choose from; Mountain/Garden View, Mountain/Garden View with Terrace, Ocean View, Ocean View with Terrace and Premium Ocean View, plus 6 grade of luxurious Suites.  All the rooms feature contemporary Hawaiian decor, luxuriously appointed and offer all the facilities you would expect from a five star resort, plus much more.  The Mountain & Garden View Rooms are located on floors 2-7 and 9, and offer 1 King or 2 Queen beds, elegant marble ensuite bathrooms with double vanities, bath/shower, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries and unique electronically controlled 'magic' glass that can change from opaque frosted for privacy, to clear to enjoy the view, air conditioning, refrigerator, mini bar, complimentary bottled water, in-room safe, tea/coffee making facilities, 42" flat screen Satelite TV, DVD player, iPod dock, work desk and chair, sitting area with sofa. armchair and coffee table, and sliding windows to enjoy the view and pacific breezes.  The Mountain and Garden View wiith terrace offer the same amenities but additionally have a private furnished terrace or balcony, located on floors 1, 4, 9 and 10.  Ocean View Rooms offer the same amenities as the Mountain/Garden View Rooms, but have lovely garden and ocean views and are located on floors 2-7.  The Ocean View with Terrace are located on the Pool level, ideal for families, as they are only a a few steps away from the pools and family-orientated lounge area.  The Premium Ocean View Rooms offer the same standard amenities but are located on floors 4-11, giving high vantage, panoramic views of Hanalei Bay and the sea.

 

The Monarch Ocean View Suites offer a separated bedroom with King bed and living room with stunning views from the large picture windows, and includes the signature St Regis Butler Service.   The Prince Junior Suites are located in preferred locations on floors 8-11 and offers a separated bed and sitting area with luxurious bathroom and panoramic views.  The St Regis Ocean View Suites offer an entrance foyer, a separate bedroom with King bed, ensuite bathroom with large tub and separate walk in shower, a spacious separate lounge with sitting and dining area, included the St Regis Butler service and the corner locations give 3 large picture windows to see the amazing views.  There are also 3 unique, and opulent suites,  the Bali Hai Signature Suite, the Presidential Suite, and the Royal Suite, all offering spacious, palatial accommodation with stunning views and first class amenities.

 

Dining at the Princeville is a gourmet experience with two top restaurants to choose from plus The Beach Restaurant & Poolside bar and Napali Cafe.

 

The Nalu Kai is an outdoor poolside cafe-style option, offering light lunches and snacks. The Makana Terrace offers stunning views with a Pacific Rim style menu and the Kauai Grill features great steak and seafood in casual, elegant surroundings.

 

For the active there are a wide choice of activities to enjoy, with all the normal watersports, 25 tennis courts, a fitness centre and golfing on one of the two championship courses that adjoin the resort.  The 5,000sqft  free-form pool has impressive sea views and is surrounded by sun terraces with sun loungers and umbrellas, a poolside bar and grill and complimentary pineapple slices and chilled towels.
