Formally called The Inn at Volcano, The Chalet Kilauea Rainforest Hotel is a boutique property set in a landscaped rainforest gardens, with large koi pond and bridge, and located in Volcano Village at the entrance to Volcano National Park.
The property has 6 individual rooms, and a detached bungalow. The Standard Queen Room, located on the 2nd floor, has a Queen bed, custom ensuite bathroom, flat-screen cable TV and rainforest-views. The individual Deluxe King Rooms offers a King bed, flat-screen TV, ensuite bathroom with separate tile and lava rock or travertine tiled double shower and some with corner bathtub, cable TV, mini-kitchenette with microwave, fridge, coffee maker and sink. The ground floor Deluxe Queen + Full Room has a private outside entrance from the tropical garden into a spacious room with a Queen bed at one end and a full size bed at the other separated by a little living space in between, flat -screen TV, ensuite bathroom with double vanity, lava stone double shower, with views of the forest garden, koi pond and access to the shared lanai. The Deluxe Bungalow is a private, raised bungalow located in the gardens, surrounded by the rainforest and just a short walk from the main building. It offers a large private slate-tiled lanai with lots of seating, a cosy living room with fireplace, flat screen TV, mini-kitchenette with microwave, toaster, coffee machine, fridge and sink, separate bedroom with King bed, and ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi bath and unique art glass-encased lava-walled shower, with large windows allowing views of the ferns and flowers of the surrounding forest.
There is a large shared lanai that some of the rooms have direct accress on to, but is open to all guests. Other than outdoor seating, there is an open air covered kitchenette, with microwave, toaster, fridge, coffee machine and sink, available for all guests to use. There is a comfortable guest lounge, the Ohana (Family) Room, where a computer and wireless internet access is available and every day,
The landscaped gardens have been planted with many rainforest plants, so the real forest just blends into the edges. There is a large koi fish pond, ornamental bridge and winding paths. There is also a gazebo covered hot tub to soak at the end of the day.
Continental breakfast is served in the Ohana Room every morning, serving fresh fruit, muffins, bagels, breads, cereals, Kona coffee and fruit juice, and there are a number of restaurants for lunch or dinner in Volcano Village. Flyers and menus for most of them can be found in the Ohana Room, for you to browse before you decide!
The Chalet Kilauea Rainforest Hotel is a very individual property and is a good base for a few days to visit the Volcano National Park.

Child Policy
Children are welcomed at the Inn. 1 Child can be accommodated in the room with a floor mattress for an additional charge of £20, but some rooms may be restricted on space. More than one child would probably have to be accommodated in a 2nd room but a discount would be applied to the 2nd room charge.
Airport Transfers
Round trip Airport transfers can be arranged on request. However, we strongly recommend hiring a car, especially if wiishing to explore the Volcanoes National Park, without too much hiking. A car would be required if you wished to travel back to a coastal or town Resort, but roads are tarmac and well maintained and roads are not crowded.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Heathrow via Newark, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer flights from Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
US Airways: Currently, no US Airways flights from the UK make a same day connection to their flights to the Hawaiian islands, so an overnight stay will be required. They operate non-stop flights from Phoenix to Maui, Honolulu, (Oahu), Kauai and Hawaii Big Island.
Hawaiian
Airlines: They provide a large range of flights from
cities in the American West to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights
from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San
Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in connection with
other carriers flights from the UK. They also provide a weekly
service between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a
Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air:
Offer a very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from
Heathrow via Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way
around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently three domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Island Air, Hawaiian Airlines and Go. They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters between
the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this time, there are
no seaplanes available for chartering in the Hawaiian chain, which
is a little disappointing for flying boat fans!
