The Royal Kona Resort overlooks the brilliant waters of Kailua Bay on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii. It is just a few minutes stroll from the quaint village of Kailua-Kona and nine miles from Keahole-Kona Airport.
Set in twelve acres of grounds, the hotel has three towers providing 436 well-appointed rooms and suites, with private lanai views of the pacific, lush green gardens or the Kailua-Kona village. All rooms and suites offer ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, hair dryer and complimentary toiletries, air conditioning, 32" flat screen cable TV with on demand movie channels, alarm clock/radio, telephone, mini fridge, tea and coffee making facilities (fee), in-room safe, iron and ironing board, small table and chairs, and private furnished lanai (balcony). Suites additionally offer a separate bedroom and living room with large corner balcony. Each building has non smoking floors and on request, disabled facilities will be provided. The central 7-storey Alii Tower has an open-air lobby, Don the Beachcomber signature restaurant, Don's Mai Tai Bar and a small newsagents and sundry shop. The 6-storey Bay Tower is the north building closest to the village of Kailua-Kona and houses the massage and spa center. The 6-storey Lagoon Tower is the south building located next to the private beach and saltwater lagoon and is the location for the beauty salon and self-service laundry room. The Bay Tower was refurbished in 2010 offering comfortable, value guestrooms. The Lagoon & Alii Towers were remodeled in 2007 with re-designed bathrooms, bedrooms and soft furnishings. Each building has non smoking floors and on request, disabled facilities can be provided.
Typical Hawaiian fare is offered at the oceanfront Don the Beachcomber Restaurant, for both breakfast and dinner and boasts one of Kona's finest breakfast buffets as well as a variety of a la carte menu items. Open throughout the week for dinner, days and hours vary seasonally, this unique circular venue not only provides stunning sunset views from every seat but offers customers mouth-watering Pacific Fusion cuisine, Prime Rib and Seafood selections made with the Island's freshest, local ingredients. Don's Mai Tai Bar, the largest open-air, oceanfront bar in Kailua-Kona, offers a dramatic venue set against the backdrop of Kailua Bay. Select from a variety of over 10 types of Mai Tais, Hawaiian specialty drinks and complete cocktail service in Kona's most spectacular location. Lunch and appetizers are served daily. With 360° views of the Pacific Ocean and Kailua Bay, the bar features scheduled live entertainment while HD televisions broadcast current sporting events
The Resort also hosts a traditional Luau 3 times a week, where you can enjoy an evening of music and dance in a dynamic show and a full island buffet
The hotel has a private beach, a freshwater split-level swimming pool and a private, enclosed salt-water lagoon, which is ideal for learning to snorkel, before expanding your experience on the stunning reef just off the main beach. There are 4 floodlit tennis courts, with Pro tennis coaches available for lessons, a Fitness Centre, The Massage and Spa centre and the activities desk provides information on golf, horseriding and other sports. The Resort also provides a guest laundry, hair salon, business services, Wi-Fi internet access (fee) and a comprehensive wedding and conference service.

Child Policy
Children of all ages are welcomed and well catered for. Children 17 years old and under stay FREE when they share the room with accompanying adults and use the existing beds.
Airport Transfers
Round trip airport transfers are £59 per person. However, we strongly recommend that you take car hire whilst staying on the Big Island as it will greatly enhance the enjoyment of your stay.
The resorts is 15mins from Keahole-Kona airport.

Currently, there are no non-stop flights from the UK to the Hawaiian Islands, mainly due to the distance from the UK. The most convenient way of getting there is via a connection at an American or Canadian city, and the following is a list of the Airlines that offer through service to the islands and the routes they operate.
Air Canada: Offer daily connecting flights to Honolulu from Heathrow via Toronto or Vancouver
United Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Heathrow via Newark, Washington, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Honolulu (Oahu), Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Chicago and Denver to Honolulu
American Airlines: Offer through services with same day connections from Heathrow via Los Angeles to Maui, Kauai and Kona (Hawaii Big island). They also offer non-stop flights from Dallas to Honolulu and Maui
Alaska Airlines: Offer daily flights from Anchorage, Seattle and Portland to Honolulu, Maui, Hawaii Big Island and Kauai, which can be used in conjunction with other airlines from the UK
Delta Airlines: Currently, no Delta flights from the UK make a same day connection to their Hawaiian flights, so an overnight stay will be required. However, they can offer a same day connection by using Virgin Atlantic's flight from Heathrow to LA, They offer non-stop flights to Honolulu (Oahu) from Atlanta, Los Angeles, Detroit and Salt Lake City, and to Maui from Los Angeles and Salt Lake City
Hawaiian Airlines: They provide a large range of flights from cities in the American West to Honolulu and Maui. Their flights from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Las Vegas, San Diego, Seattle, Portland and Phoenix can be used in connection with other carriers flights from the UK. They also provide a weekly service between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
Korean Air:
Offer a very competitive price for flights to Honolulu from
Heathrow via Seoul in South Korea, but it is the long way
around.
Domestic Flights around the
Islands
There are currently two major domestic airlines operating in Hawaii; Island Air, and Hawaiian Airlines They operate an extensive domestic flight network covering all the islands, with frequent and regular departures operating between 6am and 9 pm
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters throughout Hawaii, so arranging charters between
the main and/or outer islands is very easy. At this time, there are
no seaplanes available for chartering in the Hawaiian chain, which
is a little disappointing for flying boat fans!

For most airlines, we can pre-reserve seats for you once your flight booking is confirmed, and if no charge is applied, will do so as a matter of course. If there is a charge by the airline for this, we will only do this with your approval. Prices are based on a per room, per night room only basis for single or twin occupancy. Additional meal plan prices available on request.
Room prices increases by approximatley 35% and have 5 night
minimum stay between dates 4-9 October 2010, due to very
popular Ironman Marathon event at the Royal Kona Resort.
