This luxurious Polynesian hideaway is located in Papetoai, on the Northwest coast of Moorea, with its back drop of volcanic peaks and outlook over the crystal blue waters of the lagoon, the resort has a truly wonderful tropical setting. For the more energetic you can choose from a range of land sports and water sports, then at the days end you can enjoy a cocktail and dine in the Fare Nui restaurant and watch a magnificent sunset. Accommodation ranges from air conditioned hotel rooms, garden or beach bungalows and over water bungalows, with ceiling fans and all furnished to the highest standards. The hotel is the Tahitian home of the Pacific Dolphin research foundation, where you can experience the wonder of swimming with the dolphins - an experience not to be missed and one never forgotten.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  The hotel is in the process of some major contruction work, that commenced November 2009.  Heavy contruction will be completed by the end of March 2010 and all construction and accomodation upgrading work will be totally completed by the end of June 2010.  

 

They are building a fantastic 360 sqm infinity pool at the top of the main beach with a smaller 75 sqm pool above the main one, that will cascade into it.  Both new pools will have specatacular views of the lagoon over the beach.  The existing pool  will be landscaped into an spacious terrace  and part of this will be an outdoor extension to the Fare Hana Restaurant. 

 

All accommodation rooms and bungalows will be upgraded.  The garden bungalows will have an extended private terrace with their own plunge pool, and the overwater bungalows will have new pontoons with direct access to the water.   The accommodation  will be upgraded in stages with 10-12 rooms/bungalows being affected at one time.   The renovation and extensions will be carried out with the minimum of disturbance to guests.   

 

For the period of the construction, work will be carried out between 7:30am and 5:00pm and the affected areas will be fenced.  The Fare Hana Restaurant will be closed until June 2010, but the Fare Nui restaurant will open all day.   There will still be access to the beach, activites and the boat dock and they will be offering free transfers to the uninhabited motu, 10 minutes from the hotel, to enable guests to find a great beach with crystal blue waters as well as a peaceful shaded area for relaxing.     

 

They are also offering a 25% discount on normal rates, until the end of March 2010.

 

When completed, this property will be stunning, even more so than before, and will be well be worth including in your next vacation to French Polynesia.

 

 

UPDATE - HURRICANE OLI - FRIDAY 5TH FEBRUARY 2010

 

Hurricane Oli passed over the resort last night, but there has been no damage to speak of, just clearing up debris.
