The Le Meridien Bora Bora Resort is located on the southern point of Piti Asu Motu (Island), which is on the west side of the main Island of Bora Bora, and is reached by a short boat ride from the airport.
The Le Meridien is the resort furthest away from the centre of Bora Bora and as such offers an even quieter environment from which to enjoy the Island's magical atmosphere.
Set on a kilometre of white sandy beach, one of the longest of any of the hotels in French Polynesia, the resort offers 100 Polynesian style 'Fare' (Bungalow) with 15 bungalows positioned around an inner lagoon set back from the main lagoon beach, and 85 overwater bungalows are situated either side of the resort's main beach.
All the bungalows are well furnished, with a large bedroom area, and a lounge and a private en suite bathroom with a bath and shower. They have air conditioning, safe, mini bar, and either direct beach access with chairs and hammocks, or a private deck with a ladder into the lagoon. The overwater bungalows also have a glass covered floor area that provides breathtaking views of the aquatic life of the lagoon.
There is also the 2 new Pool Beach Suites or Villas, all just a few steps away from the beach, interior lagoon and the new Turtle Sanctuary.
The Pool Beach Suites are similar in design, furnishing and facilities to the beach bungalows, but can accommodate up to 5 guests and have a large private terrace and private pool. The Pool Beach Villa offers 2 separate bedrooms, spacious living area, as well as a private terrace and pool, and can accommodate up to 8 guests.
During 2009 the resort finished its first phase of refurbishment with a second new infinity swimming pool, the 4 new suites & beach villas, a fitness centre and an over-water Wedding Chapel to add the the resorts facilities. They also extended terraces to the Premium over-water bungalows, and installed electronic keys, wireless internet access and new flat screen TV's to all rooms.
The new Turtle Sanctuary, built and opened by the Resort in 2009, to rescue and breed endangered sea turtles, including the hawksbill and green turtles. Here you are able to see these lovely creatures close up, learn about them and how they are cared for, and even swim in the lagoon with them!
All the bungalows will be re-modeled and upgraded during 2010, and the Resort will close temporarily between 1st October 2010 and 22nd January 2011 for the full refurbishment to be completed.
Situated by the side of the inner lagoon, the Resorts' Le Tipanie and Le Tiare Restaurants offers a wide range of international and local cuisines to suit all tastes, with themed buffets, weekly changing a la carte menus and amazing views. There is also the unusual Miki Miki Bar, which is designed like the prow of a ship, pointing into the lagoon towards Mount Otemanu and a great place for a light snack or sip a cocktail and watch the sunset. For relaxed dining, there is the choice of Fare Tupa and the Le Te Ava Restaurants offer menus of light meals and snacks.
The lagoon is a great location for many watersports and activities that the Resort offers, such as snorkeling, outrigger canoes, pedal boats, surf boards, jet-skiing, catamaran cruising, parasailing, water skiing, shark and ray feeding, deep sea fishing, aqua safaris and more. There is also beach volleyball, kids playground and also free transfers to the main island to explore, shop or just have a day trip out.
The Le Meridien Bora Bora Resort is an ideal getaway for romance, peace and tranquility amidst beautiful and luxurious surroundings - well worth a visit.

Although there are frequent international flights into Tahiti,
French Polynesia's international gateway to the World, there are
limited airports of embarkation to choose from, with currently only
Paris, Los Angeles, Auckland and Tokyo offering one plane air
service to Tahiti.
The international airline for French Polynesia. is Air
Tahiti Nui who operate daily flights from Paris and Los
Angeles to Tahiti and on many days there are additional fights
to/from Los Angeles. In addition they operate two weekly flights
to/from Auckland and they serve Tokyo twice a week. Their service
to New York has been temporarily suspended.
Air France has in the past offered service from
Paris, but currently is not offering it's own flights on the route
it code shares on the Air Tahiti Nui services.
Air New Zealand operates twice a week from/to
Auckland with it's own aircraft, it also operates a codeshare
arrangements with Air Tahiti Nui providing seats on their two
weekly fights from Tahiti to Auckland.
Air Cali, operate a weekly flight between Noumea
and Tahiti.
Hawaiian Airlines, provide a weekly service
between Honolulu and Tahiti, currently operating on a
Saturday/Sunday schedule.
LANChile, operate a flight twice a week from
Santiago to Tahiti via Easter Island, providing the availability to
do a great side trip from Tahiti to Easter island.
Air Tahiti, is French Polynesia's domestic
airline operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all
the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. With the
main Society islands receiving a number of flights a day, and
between Tahiti and Moorea there are departures hourly between 6am
and 6.45pm Monday to Thursday with later evening flights over the
weekends.
The less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a
night stop in Tahiti may be required when connecting between these
islands.
Air Tahiti is providing the only air service
between Tahiti and the Cook islands, which they currently do twice
a week on a Tuesday and Saturday.
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for
private charters, but they all tend to be based in Tahiti so
arranging charters between the outer islands can be expensive as
the aircraft will originate and terminate in Tahiti, also at this
time there are no seaplanes operating in French Polynesia, which is
a little disappointing!
