THIS RESORT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED UNTIL 2023. AS SOON AS WE HAVE FURTHER INFORMATION, WE WILL UPDATE THIS PAGE.
The Le Meridien Bora Bora Resort is located on Piti A'au Motu (Island), the biggest motu around Bora Bora at 10 km long, on the eastern side of the main central island of Bora Bora, and is reached by a short 20 minute boat ride from the airport.
The Le Meridien is one of the resorts furthest away from the centre of Bora Bora, but not too far away from the villages or other Resorts to feel isolated.
Set on a kilometre of white sandy beach, one of the longest of any of the hotels in French Polynesia, the Resort offers 100 Polynesian-style 'Fare' (Bungalow), with 15 bungalows positioned around an inner lagoon set back from the main lagoon beach, and 85 overwater bungalows situated along wooden pontoons either side of the resort's main beach.
During 2009, the resort finished its first phase of refurbishment, with a second new infinity swimming pool, the 4 new suites & beach villas, a fitness centre and an over-water Wedding Chapel to add the the resorts facilities. They also extended terraces to the Premium over-water bungalows, and installed electronic keys, wireless internet access and new flat screen TV's to all rooms. During 2010/2011, all the bungalows were completed renovated to provide modern, comfortable rooms with contemporary decor with a Polynesian feel, and feature all new furniture and amenities. And in 2016, they repainted, replaced pandanus roofs, replaced a number of decks, added new beach equipment such as clear-bottom kayaks, added a new dive centre and expanded the Fare Massage Spa. they also added the Happaina Wine and Tapas bar, as an extension to the main restaurant, on the edge of the lagoon.
There are six categories of bungalow, offering Classic Motu Bungalows at the very beginning of the pontoons, the Beach Bungalows around the inner lagoon, the Overwater, and Premium Overwater Bungalows, and the 1- and 2-bedroom Pool Beach Villas.
The Classic Motu Bungalows are attached to and access from the pontoon walkways, close to the beach, and have a large bedroom area with 1 King or 2 Single beds, a private en suite bathroom with a bath, separate shower, hairdryer and bathrobes and complimentary toiletries, a sitting area with sofa daybed, air conditioning and ceiling fan, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, flat-screen TV with on demand and music channels, Wi-Fi Internet access (fee), radio/alarm clock, IDD telephone, in-room safe, iron and ironing board, and a private deck with chairs to enjoy the views. They don't have steps into the water from the deck but the beach and the water is just a few steps away. The Beach Bungalows are set amongst the lush planting around the inner lagoon, making them very private, and offer the same amenities as the Classic Motu Bungalows, but also have a large private deck with access to your own private beach with chairs and hammock, leading straight into the warm, shallow water of the inner lagoon. The Overwater Bungalows are spaced along the 2 pontoons out into the main lagoon, and have the same amenities as the Lagoon Bungalows, but also have a king-sized bed, a glass floor panel for underwater viewing, and a large private deck with direct steps access into the water. The Premium Overwater Bungalows are towards the end of the pontoons, with extended private decks with direct lagoon access, stunning views of Mount Otemanu, and are ideal for romantic and peaceful stays.
The new 1- and 2-bedroom Pool Beach Villas are set around the shallow inner lagoon, amongst the tropical plants and coconut trees, and are just a few steps away from the main beach and the new Turtle Sanctuary. The 1-bed Pool Beach Suites are similar in design, furnishing and facilities to the beach bungalows, but are more than 3 times larger with a separate bedroom and living room with sofabeds. They can accommodate up to 5 guests and have a large private, furnished terrace and private plunge pool. The 2-bed Pool Beach Villa offers 2 separate bedrooms, one on each side with its own ensuite bathroom, spacious living area in the centre, as well as a private terrace and pool, and can accommodate up to 8 guests.
Situated by the side of the inner lagoon, the Resorts' Le Tipanie Restaurant offers a wide range of international and local cuisines to suit all tastes, with generous breakfast and dinner buffets, with themed buffets on some nights, an a la carte menus and amazing views of the inner lagoon. There is also the unusual Miki Miki Bar, which is designed like the prow of a ship, pointing into the lagoon towards Mount Otemanu and a great place for a light snack or sip a cocktail and watch the sunset. For relaxed dining, there is the open air Le Te Ava Restaurant, with its soft sand floor and eye-catching fuschia-pink chairs. It offers light meals of fresh salads, fresh fish, sandwiches, pizza, and sweet desserts. La Trattoria prepares a selection of Italian and mediterranean favourites each evening, including a freshly made pasta station, served with a good selection of fine Italian wines. The Fare Tupa Pool Bar, located under the prow of the Miki Miki Bar is the ideal place to pick up a cold cocktail or your favourite beverage after a swim in the pool, the lagoon or a spot of sunbathing on the white sand beach. And the new Happaina Wine and Tapas bar, right on the lagoon edge, is now open, too (March 16).
The lagoon is a great location for many watersports and activities that the Resort offers (free and paid activities), such as snorkelling, outrigger canoes, glass-bottom kayaks, pedal boats, surf boards, jet-skiing, catamaran cruising, parasailing, water skiing, shark and ray feeding, deep sea fishing, aqua safaris jeep and quad safaris on the centre island, and more. There is also beach volleyball, kids playground, table tennis, badminton, beach chess, a free guided lagoon tour each day and transfers to the main island to explore, shop or just have a day trip out. If you don't fancy swimming in the lagoon or the sheltered inner lagoon, there are 2 outdoor pools to choose from, and when you want to relax, the Manahau Wellness Centre Spa, offers a range of body and beauty treatments to soothe and rejuvenate. Most evenings, there is some form of live entertainment, from fashion shows, Polynesian cultural shows, and some nights, the DJ spins the discs and the pool party is very lively.
The new Turtle Sanctuary was built and opened by the Resort in 2009, to rescue and breed endangered sea turtles, including the hawksbill and green turtles. Here you are able to see these lovely creatures close up, learn about them and how they are cared for, and even get to feed and swim in the lagoon with them!
The Le Meridien Bora Bora has an experienced Wedding Coordinator and can arrange your perfect day in the perfect spot for you, such as on the beach, at the end of the pier, or even in their private wedding chapel built over the lagoon with stunning views.
The Le Meridien Bora Bora Resort is an ideal getaway for romance, peace and tranquility amidst beautiful and luxurious surroundings - well worth considering as your home away from home for your visit.

Although there are frequent
international flights into Tahiti, there are limited airports of
embarkation to choose from, with currently only Paris, Los Angeles,
Auckland and Tokyo offering single plane air service to
Tahiti.
The international airline for French Polynesia. is Air Tahiti
Nui, who operate daily flights from Paris and Los
Angeles to Tahiti, and on some days there are additional fights
to/from Los Angeles. In addition, they operate two weekly flights
to/from Auckland and they serve Tokyo twice a week. Their services
to New York and Sydney have been suspended, at this
time.
Air France
currently offer a service from Paris, three times a week via Los
Angeles
Air New Zealand
operates daily flights via LA to Papeete, and 5 days a week from/to
Auckland with it's own aircraft. It also operates a codeshare
arrangements with Air Tahiti Nui providing seats on their fights
from Tahiti to Auckland and Los Angeles.
United Airlines operate 3 times
a week from San Francisco to Papeete, on Tuesday, Thursday and
Sunday, which will connect to their daily flight from
Heathrow.
Air Calin
operate a weekly flight between Noumea, in New Caledonia, and
Tahiti.
Hawaiian
Airlines provide a weekly service between Honolulu and
Tahiti, currently operating on a Saturday/Sunday schedule.
LANChile
operate a flight once a week from Santiago to Tahiti via
Easter Island, providing the availability to do a great side trip
from Tahiti to Easter island.
Air Tahiti is
French Polynesia's domestic airline, which operates an extensive
domestic flight network covering all the country's main islands,
with at least a daily service. With the main Society islands
receiving a number of flights a day, since Air Moorea stopped
operations between Tahiti and Moorea, the flight connections now to
Moorea have become limited, most connections between the two are
now done by ferry boat.
The less populated and outer islands have a restricted service, so
sometimes a night stop in Tahiti may be required when connecting to
these islands.
Air Tahiti
provide the only air service between Tahiti and the Cook islands,
which they currently do once a week on a Thursday, an extra high
season flight is operated between June and August
There are a number of aircraft and helicopters available for private charters, but they all tend to be based in Tahiti so arranging charters between the outer islands can be expensive as the aircraft will originate and terminate in Tahiti. Tahiti Nui Helicopters are one such company that operate resort transfers (where helipad available), inter-island flights and sightseeing trips. Contact us for further info.
