Turtle Island is located in the southern Yasawa Islands, just a short 30-minute seaplane flight north of Nadi. The island and magnificent lagoon were the notion for both the 1949 and 1980 versions of "The Blue Lagoon" movies.
Turtle Island is an ideal location of those clients who are looking for a 5 star resort experience in a location that will offer complete isolation from the outside world, there are no phones in the rooms and no televisions!
Where Turtle Island differs from all the other Fiji islands is in the philosophy and passion of the owner, American Richard Evanson, who purchased the island in 1972, at that time the island was uninhabited except for goats that had ravaged and destroyed the natural vegetation.
Over the last 30 years, Richard has reforested and replanted the island with over 400,000 indigenous trees and plant life and ecologically compatible new tropical trees and plants to supplement the natural planting. The end result is an island that is one of the most attractive and interesting tropical islands to be found anywhere in the world. To ensure the environmental stablility of the island the guest total is limited to only 16 people at any one time.
The resort is built on the western side of the island along a 400-foot white sand beach. There are 15 bures, spread along the beach but positioned back a little in a tropical garden setting. They are built far enough apart to ensure total privacy. The island has 14 beaches that can be reserved for daily private use to enjoy a champagne picnic or whatever you choose (limited only by your imagination!). Each bure has a king-size bed, dressing area, jacuzzi, outdoor shower, veranda with day bed and a sitting room. The rooms have ceiling fan ventilation, bar stocked with drinks and tropical fruit and a radio/CD player.
For the active there are many watersports available including Scuba Diving. you can also enjoy horseback riding, and some wonderful jungle walks.
The resort's chefs are at the peak of their culinary achievements so a truly wonderful dining experience can be guaranteed. Every night is a dinner party in the company of your fellow guests with sumptuous food and unlimited fine wines and champagnes. However if you prefer to dine alone there are some lovely "private dining" options - the choice is yours.
As all the meals, drinks and activities (except massage) are included so you can truly relax and enjoy the whole "Turtle Island Experience". The resort has been awarded many international awards for its ecological achievements and its superb customer service. The Turtle Island family make everybody welcome and will go to any lengths to ensure your total comfort and satisfaction, to them you are one of the extended Turtle family.
A minimum 6 night stay is required.

Fiji has one of the best air service connections of any of the islands in the Pacific.
Air Pacific, Fiji's national carrier, provides a daily service to Sydney and Auckland and up to six times a week to Los Angeles, with frequent flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. Air Pacific also provides regular services to the neighbouring island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati and the Solomon Islands. Further afield it operates twice weekly flights to Hong Kong.
Korean Air operate three flights a week between Seoul and Nadi. On the southbound flights from Seoul a direct connection can be made off Korean Air's daily London-Seoul flight. However, on the return flight, a night stop will be required in Seoul, as the flight timings do not permit a same day connection.
Air New Zealand operates daily to/from Auckland with connections to its double-daily flights to London, either via Los Angeles or Hong Kong. Air New Zealand also operates a codeshare arrangement with Air Pacific providing seats on their non-stop Nadi-Los Angeles flights.
Virgin Blue operate a regular service from/to Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities.
Air Cali operate twice a week between Noumea and Nadi. Currently Air New Guinea operate a twice a week service from and to Port Moresby via Honiara.
Pacific Sun, Air Pacific's domestic airline subsidiary, operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. The main northern islands receive at least two flights a day and some times more, the less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a night stop in Nadi or Suva may be required when connecting between some of the less popular islands.
A number of the outer Island Resorts operate their own dedicated daily flights, to transfer their clients from Nadi to the resort and back, using either fixed wing commuter aircraft, seaplanes or helicopters. Further details of these will be given at the time we provide our quotation.
