They have a resident marine biologist to answer your aquatic questions and lead diving expeditions, and sometimes even Jean-Michel Cousteau himself could be diving with you! They have an onsite photo lab, so you can get instant development of your underwater photographs, and run a number of cultural, marine and ecological programs that are designed to enhance your appreciation for protecting and conserving Fiji's environment.
The accommodation is offered in 25 spacious Bures, spread throughout a tropical garden which nestles in a 17 acre coconut grove that fronts the water's edge of the protected Savusavu Bay. All your meals and soft drinks are included in the room rates, and served in the open air restaurant or on the poolside deck. You get to sample a varied menu of Fijian and international cuisine with Pacific and Asian influences. There is a good wine selection and most popular drinks are also available. Once a week there is also a traditional Fijian Lovo barbecue feast, which everyone is invited to join in, or if you fancy something more romantic, you can dine in your bure, or book a private table at the end of the pier, and watch the sunset blaze across the sea as you dine. There is a separate dining area for families in the main restaurant, and children can also eat at the kids club, leaving parents to enjoy a peaceful, possibly romantic, dinner alone, if they wish.
The Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort is one of the best for scuba diving in the South Pacific. Apart from being in a great location with crystal clear water and a fantastic reef structure just 15 minutes from the Resort, the area has been enhanced by the creation in 2002 of a marine reserve in the waters around the shores of the Resort. It has been respected by the locals who no longer fish or anchor within the area, and there has been a marked increase in the diversity and volume of marine life now in the area. The on-site PADI Dive centre, and their highly experienced and qualified instructors, offers diving adventures for everyone, from expert, experienced divers, right through to beginners who want to learn this amazing hobby.
There are many activities for the non-diver to enjoy at the resort, most of them complimentary, from just lounging around one of the 4 swimming pools, or relaxing on the beach, to the more energetic pursuits of playing tennis, volleyball or take a trek through the rain forest. Kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, catamarans and snorkelling equipment is available for guests' use, and craft classes, guided snorkelling trips, mangrove tour, and village, church and farmer's market trips are organised each week. You could also take a trip out over the reef with their resident marine biologist in a glass bottomed boat, and learn about the world below the water. Scuba diving trips, guided kayaking tours, deep sea fishing and sunset cruises can also be arrange for an additional fee. They also have their own private island, and will arrange half or full day trips complete with a gourmet picnic lunch, complete with a bottle of chilled champagne, if you wish.
The Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort has a range of romance and wedding packages, including Fijian warrior escorts, lali drums and a beautiful beachfront location for your ceremony.
The resort also runs a comprehensive child's program, which is designed to give them a cultural and ecological understanding of Fiji, plus lots of organised, fun activities. Operating as the Bula Club, for children toddlers-6 years and 6-12 years, and the teen program for 12-16 years, each different club offers a variety of age appropriate activities.

Fiji Airways ( was Air Pacific ), Fiji's national carrier, provides a daily service to Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles, and frequent flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. San Francisco San Francisco. Further afield it operates 5 times a week to Hong Kong, twice a week to Tokyo and 3 times a week to Singapore They also provide regular services to the neighbouring island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvulu and the Solomon Islands.
Korean Air operate three flights a week between Seoul and Nadi. On the southbound flights from Seoul a direct connection can be made off Korean Air's daily London-Seoul flight. However, on the return flight, a night stop will be required in Seoul, as the flight timings do not permit a same day connection.
Air New Zealand operates daily to/from Auckland with connections to its double-daily flights to London, either via Los Angeles or Hong Kong. Air New Zealand also operates a codeshare arrangement with Air Pacific providing seats on their non-stop Nadi-Los Angeles flights.
Virgin Australia operate a regular service from/to Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities.
Air Calin operate twice a week between Noumea and Nadi.
Air Niugini operate a twice a week service from and to Port Moresby via Honiara to Nadi.
Pacific Sun, Fiji Airways's domestic airline subsidiary, operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. The main northern islands receive at least two flights a day and some times more, the less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a night stop in Nadi or Suva may be required when connecting between some of the less popular islands.
A number of the outer Island Resorts operate their own dedicated daily flights, to transfer their clients from Nadi to the resort and back, using either fixed wing commuter aircraft, seaplanes or helicopters. Further details of these will be given at the time we provide our quotation.
