Tides Reach Resort is a brand new (2015), luxury resort located on the north coast of Taveuni, on a secluded sandy beach, surrounded by tropical gardens and swaying palm trees.
The Resort only has 4 deluxe bungalows, or bures (pronounced boo-rays), so service is very personal and 24/7, and the resort will never feel crowded. If you have a large family or group of friends, you can even hire out the property entirely, and have a completely private resort.
There are 2 styles of bungalow; the Beachfront Villa and the Deluxe Beachfront Villa. Both are designed in the same modern island style but the Deluxe Beachfront Villa has a large separate master bedroom and separate living room, both opening out to the covered deck area right on the sandy beach, overlooking the sea. Each Villa offers air conditioning, ceiling fans, 1 king bed, a luxurious ensuite bathroom with designer vanities, bath robes, complimentary Pure Fiji toiletries, hairdryer, separate shower and free standing bath and beach towels, a comfortable sitting area with 48" flat screen TV with Sky TV system, Wi-Fi, BOSE iPod docking station, fully stocked mini bar (fee), tea and coffee making facilities, in-room safe, international adapters, and bi-folding doors opening to a private furnished deck. The Deluxe Beachfront Villa has a separate bedroom and double aspect sitting room, both opening to a wraparound deck. If extra beds are required, 2 single beds can be set up in the sitting room for up to 2 children, included in the cost, or for an extra adult for a fee. The twice daily maid service will leave you fresh baked cookies each morning and a turndown service in the evening.
There is a pool and furnished terrace around the main building, which also houses the main reception and dining room. Both the restaurant and the terrace deck overlook the sandy beach and the ocean, just a few steps away from the water. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort, and within each bungalow.
Tides Reach Resort is an almost all-inclusive resort, as it includes all meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner, unlimited tea and coffee, daily fresh homemade cookies, pre-dinner hors d'oeuvres, but does not include any further drinks, which can be bought as required. The resort has its own organic vegetable garden, and they are all used in the meals prepared in the restaurant.
Other complimentary services and amenities include a daily laundry service (dry cleaning - fee), daily snorkelling boat trip with fins/masks provided, kayaking, windsurfing, stand up paddle boards, bicycle loan, hand line fishing from the beach or from kayak, guided hikes and flora walks, weekly village visit and tour with traditional meke dance show, school and church visit. For some activities, the Resort would require you to sign an indemnity waiver, and for the village visit, they do ask for a small contribution to the village. The Resort also has a couple of ATV's (quadbike style) for hire so you can explore the island on your own.
Activities nearby are numerous and include jet skis, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, game fishing, guided nature walks, hiking, horseriding and cycling to name just a few.
If you want to relax and be pampered, Tides Reach Resort offers a comprehensive selection of Spa services, including several different types of 1 or 2 person massages, wraps, facials, body treatments, mani/pedi and a variety of beauty treatments, all in the privacy of your villa, on your deck or on the beach infront of your villa. Because the services are provded by staff off-site, 24 hours advance notice is required for all bookings and treatments.
The Tides Reach Resort is a modern haven in a traditional 'old-world' Fiji, giving a natural blend of the old with the new. Although the per night price seems high, you have to remember all the inclusions, such as your meals and activities, and is per night up to maximum occupancy, and not per person. When you take all this into account, this is very good value for a small but luxurious resort.

Fiji has one of the best air service connections of any of the islands in the Pacific.
Fiji Airways ( was Air Pacific ),Fiji's national carrier, provides a daily service to Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles, and frequent flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. San Francisco San Francisco. Further afield it operates 5 times a week to Hong Kong, twice a week to Tokyo and 3 times a week to Singapore They also provide regular services to the neighbouring island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvulu and the Solomon Islands.
Korean Air operate three flights a week between Seoul and Nadi. On the southbound flights from Seoul a direct connection can be made off Korean Air's daily London-Seoul flight. However, on the return flight, a night stop will be required in Seoul, as the flight timings do not permit a same day connection.
Air New Zealand operates daily to/from Auckland with connections to its double-daily flights to London, either via Los Angeles or Hong Kong. Air New Zealand also operates a codeshare arrangement with Air Pacific providing seats on their non-stop Nadi-Los Angeles flights.
Virgin Australia operate a regular service from/to Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities.
Air Calin operate twice a week between Noumea and Nadi.
Air Niugini operate a twice a week service from and to Port Moresby via Honiara to Nadi.
Pacific Sun, Fiji Airways's domestic airline subsidiary, operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. The main northern islands receive at least two flights a day and some times more, the less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a night stop in Nadi or Suva may be required when connecting between some of the less popular islands.
A number of the outer Island Resorts operate their own dedicated daily flights, to transfer their clients from Nadi to the resort and back, using either fixed wing commuter aircraft, seaplanes or helicopters. Further details of these will be given at the time we provide our quotation.
