Taveuni Island Resort is a peaceful adults-only resort on the northern tip of Taveuni Island, and is set on a small clifftop on ten acres of tropical manicured gardens with stunning views across the ocean to Fiji's second island of Vanua levu.

This boutique resort will only accommodate 12 couples at any time as there are only eleven Bures (bungalows), all built for privacy and to take advantage of the spectacular views over the azure ocean and surrounding islands.

The spacious detached bure villas are offered in 2 categories: Luxury Ocean View Villas and Luxury Oceanfront Villas.  They are both over 100sqm and are built with local timber and stone, where possible, with large floor to ceiling windows with sea views on all sides, and bi-folding doors out to your private furnished terrace.  Each Bure has a bedroom area with 4-poster king bed with net drapes and bi-fold doors out to the terrace, modern ensuite bathroom with double vanities and indoor and outdoor wet room-style showers, spacious sitting area, small kitchenette with fridge, sink and tea and coffee making facilities, and a 2nd set of bi fold doors to the shaded terrace, where you have a dining table with an ocean view.

There is also the spacious Grand Matalau Villa, uniquely designed as 4 hexagons, which offers  2 bedroom suites, a kitchen and dining wing and a central open plan lounge area and private deck.  The Villa offers bedrooms with 4 poster kind bed, ensuite bathroom with indoor and outdoor walk in showers, double vanities and hairdryer, air conditioning, ceiling fans, kitchen and dining room, spacious lounge with bi-fold doors opening out to a private partially covered patio with rattan sofas and chairs, sun loungers and steps down to the lawn and plunge pool.  Guests in the Grand Matalau Villa also have complimentary airport transfers and your own personal chef and dedicated staff.

The open air Restaurant and Bar is open all day, and as all meals are included, you can choose anything you like, without the thought of costs. Much of the produce used in the daily changing menus is grown or reared in the resorts' on site vegetable garden, or their nearby farm, which they also share and supply produce to some of the nearby smaller islands and villages.   The full bar offers an extensive range of favourite drinks, spirits, wines and cocktails (paid).   For a romantic evening, you can also dine in the private dining bure, nestled on the hillside, overlooking the Ocean.

Being an island, as you would expect, many water activities are available for guests, and most onsite are complimentary.  There is a lovely infinity pool with wide ocean views, a lovely beach area which is great for swimming, snorkelling, paddleboards and kayaks, beach walks, sailing, and nearby, some of the most stunning diving spots in the islands.  The Resort has live cultural shows each week and a day spa to enjoy.  Nearby, there are excursions to several pretty waterfalls and natural rock slides and the popular Lavena Coastal Walk, which is more hike than walk, but still very scenic and worth the effort if you feel up to it.
