The Qamea Beach Resort & Spa is a small, boutique, all-inclusive Resort, catering for only 24 priveleged guests and is situated on the beach on the south west corner of the island of Qamea, one of Taveuni's outer islands, just a short 60 minute flight from Nadi.
The Resort is set in 100 acres of gorgeous island landscape, with manicured tropical gardens which lead to its own private white sand beach. The accommodation is offered in 10 Beachfront Bures, 2 Honeymoon Bures, 2 Royal Beach Houses and 1 two-bedroom Royal Villa.
All the bures and villas are constructed to a traditional Fijiian design with thatched roofs and use lots of local, stone, woods and bamboo, high 20ft ceilings, polished timber floor and oversized bamboo furniture. During 2012, the Beachfront and Honeymoon Bures all underwent major renovations with new bathrooms and soft furnishings, and the Royal Beach Houses were similarly upgraded in 2015.
The Beachfront Bures offer a sleeping area with a King size bed, a private bathroom with designer rock sink, romantic river stone outdoor shower, complimentary toiletries, bathrobes and hairdryer, sitting area with sofa/day bed and coffee table, a fully stocked minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, a work desk and chair, in-room safe, air conditioning and a ceiling fan for ventilation and a covered veranda with lounge chairs and hammock with wonderful beach views.
The Honeymoon Bures are some of the best to be found anywhere in Fiji and have probably the best views in the Resort. They offer a large bamboo kingsize 4-poster bed, with side tables, sitting area with sofa/day bed and armchairs, minibar, work desk and chair and tea/coffee making facilities. Both areas are ventilated by air conditioning and ceiling fans. The bathroom has a large sunken shower as well as twin designer rock wash basins, complimentary toiletries, hairdryer and an outdoor shower for two. The spacious deck area faces the stunning beach and ocean and has lounge chairs, a hammock and a covered daybed.
The 1-bedroom Royal Beach House offers extra space and luxurious accommodation, and are located at the far end of the Resort beach, to provide a secluded and private stay. They offer ensuite bathrooms with double sinks, indoor and outdoor showers, complimentary toiletries and hairdryer, kingsize 4-poster beds, comfortable living area with sofas and chairs, 42" flat screen TV with satelite channels, stereo with i-Pod docking station and an expansive deck area with private pool, lounge furniture and lovely views to the beach and the ocean, where your nightly hor d'oeuvres and cocktail is served at sunset!
The Royal Villa is a spacious private villa, larger than the Beach House and is fully screened for privacy. There is a separate bedroom with kingsize 4-poster bed and an ensuite bathroom with complimentary toiletries, double carved stone sinks and shower, 2nd bedroom with 1 King or 2 single beds, a 2nd bathroom with outdoor shower, airy living area, with sofas, chairs, dining table, sideboard with minibar and tea and coffee making facilities and writing desk and 42" TV with satelite channels Both master bedroom and living rooms have sliding doors that open onto the large covered verandah with lounge chairs and hammock, private plunge pool, covered hot tub and beautiful beach and sea views.
The main bure, which accommodates the restaurant and bar areas, is built to the design of a village chief's bure with a 33-foot high ceiling. The Resort's chef prepares dishes from around the world with a Pacific Rim style, which are supplemented by a very extensive wine list. The mostly organic menu offers a varied selection of fresh fish, caught around the island, fresh fruit and vegetables, some grown in the gardens, and fresh meat and poultry flown in 3 times a week from New Zealand and Australia. Every afternoon, you can also enjoy homemade cakes and pastries with afternoon tea, and snacks are also available if you're feeling peckish between meals.
The island of Qamea has been voted as one of the top ten snorkelling reefs to be found in the Pacific Ocean. The scuba diving is also of a very high rating, with over 20 dive sites to be found within a short boat ride of the resort. In addition to these activities, there are a number of island tours to let you explore the beautiful island, traditional meke (song and dance) and kava ceremonies to enjoy. The Resort offers the free use of paddle boards, kayaks, hobie cats and outrigger canoes, has its own freshwater swimming pool, croquet lawn, giant chess board, and fitness room, and has a relaxing Spa offering many beauty and body treatments and therapies.
The Resort has been designed to provide an exclusive, quiet and relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful island setting. To that end, children under the age of 13 are not permitted. When taking into account the location, way off the beaten track, not simple to get to, and with there being very little to do other than relax and swim, it is not a resort we would recommend for families anyway. We would however, definitely recommend it to romantics and lovers of all ages!

Fiji has one of the best air service connections of any of the islands in the Pacific.
Fiji Airways ( was Air Pacific ),Fiji's national carrier, provides a daily service to Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles, and frequent flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. San Francisco San Francisco. Further afield it operates 5 times a week to Hong Kong, twice a week to Tokyo and 3 times a week to Singapore They also provide regular services to the neighbouring island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvulu and the Solomon Islands.
Korean Air operate three flights a week between Seoul and Nadi. On the southbound flights from Seoul a direct connection can be made off Korean Air's daily London-Seoul flight. However, on the return flight, a night stop will be required in Seoul, as the flight timings do not permit a same day connection.
Air New Zealand operates daily to/from Auckland with connections to its double-daily flights to London, either via Los Angeles or Hong Kong. Air New Zealand also operates a codeshare arrangement with Air Pacific providing seats on their non-stop Nadi-Los Angeles flights.
Virgin Australia operate a regular service from/to Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities.
Air Calin operate twice a week between Noumea and Nadi.
Air Niugini operate a twice a week service from and to Port Moresby via Honiara to Nadi.
Pacific Sun, Fiji Airways's domestic airline subsidiary, operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. The main northern islands receive at least two flights a day and some times more, the less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a night stop in Nadi or Suva may be required when connecting between some of the less popular islands.
A number of the outer Island Resorts operate their own dedicated daily flights, to transfer their clients from Nadi to the resort and back, using either fixed wing commuter aircraft, seaplanes or helicopters. Further details of these will be given at the time we provide our quotation.
