Royal Davui Island Resort is an exclusive adults-only sanctuary situated in Fiji's spectacular Beqa Lagoon. 16 exquisitely appointed Vales (bungalows) nestle around 10 acres of lush tropical paradise, allowing for no more than 32 guests on the island at any one time, ensuring the ultimate in privacy, personal service and relaxation.

Each detached Vale (pronounced vah-lay) or villa, is surrounded by lush green foliage, and has a gorgeous sea view from their bluff-top position. When the Resort was built, each vale was positioned so that none of the mature trees had to be cut down, preserving the natural enviroment.  There are 3 Vale categories: the Island Plunge Pool Vale (villa), Premium Pool Vale (villa) and the Royal Davui Pool Suites.

All the Vales are decorated in similar modern, island style; light and airy with hardwood floors, high ceilings with thatched roof.  They have a luxurious ensuite bathroom with separate wet-room style shower and a jacuzzi spa bath that sits on a mezzanine level looking down on a separate bedroom with King size bed with romantic net curtains, and bi-folding doors opening up the whole wall on to a private sun deck with sun loungers.  Next door is the spacious and airy lounge area and a second open air balcony, with table and chairs, again with bi-folding doors, amazing ocean views and access to your private plunge pool.  Each Vale is open to the tropical trade winds, if you wish, allowing you to experience the true meaning of Fijian outdoor living. They offer a range of amenities, including air conditioning, ceiling fans, complimentary Pure Fiji toiletries, complimentary Wi-Fi internet access, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar/fridge, in-room safe, and beach towels.  There are 4 Island Pool Vales on the south side of the island, close to the southern beach, and a further 4 the eastern coastline, overlooking Beqa Island.  The 6 Premium Plunge Pool Vales are on the western shore, with beautiful sunset views over the Beqa Lagoon.  The 2 Royal Davui Suites are located on the south-east and south-west corners of the island.  Royal Davui Island Resort is currently the only private island with private plunge pools for each and every Vale.

There are also the 2 Royal Davui Suites, East and West Suites, which are in secluded gardens on the eastern and western promontories of the island.  These luxurious Vales are larger than the other Vales, and are an ideal honeymoon retreat!  They have the mezzanine bathroom overlooking the larger bedroom and sundeck, but also has a larger living room, with wraparound balcony and open air dining deck, joined to the bedroom wing by an internal courtyard garden. This courtyard garden also opens onto a spacious deck with a large private plunge pool, and every room has amazing view over the Beqa lagoon.

The open-air Banyan Bar and Restaurant offers treetop dining with tantalising glimpses of the ocean through the branches of the majestic banyan tree.  Dining is relaxed and casual and has daily changing menus using fresh local ingredients, such as fresh caught fish and all meals are included in the daily rates.  The chefs are only too happy to accommodate most requests if you fancy something different or special.  You can also dine on the deck of your vale or at one of a few secluded private dining decks hidden around the gardens.  For something private and romantic, you can escape to a deserted sand bar, just a few minute from the island, with your favourite cold beverage, picnic hamper and the love of your life.

Royal Davui Island is a coral bluff island with a rocky coastline around one side, with 3, separate white sand beaches around the other 3 sides.  There are corals almost up to the shore, so swimming and snorkelling is easy in the crystal clear shallow water, and if you don't fancy swimming in the lagoon, there is a free-form swimming pool to enjoy.

There are so many activities and equipment that is complimentary for Royal Davui Island guests, including Hobie cat sailing, sea kayaks, stand-up paddle board, snorkelling, Guided reef tours, island picnics, cooking classes, beach games and cultural village and church visits (small donation to the village fund).   But if that's not enough to keep you occupied, there are a myraid of activities to enjoy on the surrounding islands.  Diving is especially good in the Beqa Lagoon, with a variety of different dive sites to experience.  And if you want a bit more of an adrenaline rush, you can try white water rafting, speed along on a Sigatoga River safari, zip line canopy tour, Frigate Passage surfing, Terra Trek dune buggies, or deep sea game fishing.  With Beqa Island next door, and Viti Levu being so close, day trips to the islands are easy, to explore the towns, have a round of golf or visit the Natural History Museum.

The green credentials of the Royal Davui are quite impressive, including using 90% locally grown or harvested produce, waste water treated to use in the gardens, and all waste possible is recyled.   They employ 99% Fijian staff from neighbouring islands, and all the timber used in the resort was purchased from sustainable plantations.
