Malolo Island Resort is an intimate, secluded resort where you can relax amongst lush, tropical gardens, with white sandy beaches, abundant coral reefs, coconut palms and azure seas.
Situated right on the beachfront, the Malolo Island Resort is Fijian family owned and had just completed a FJD$2m refurbishment in 2009, consisting of a complete re-design of the exteriors as well as the interiors of all their 47 bungalows, or bures, new decking and a larger traditionally thatched covered area around the Beach Bar, offering more shade over the seating area, a new Reception area, a significant face lift for the Terrace Restaurant, and both swimming pools have been renovated, including new pool decking and furniture. Sadly, just after this refurbishment had taken place, Tropical Cyclone Evan hit the Resort in December 2012, causing some serious damage. But they have rallied together and spent an amazing additional FJD$5.5m rebuilding and upgrading the Resort further.
Accommodation is in semi detached bures (bungalows), right on the beach, or a few metres set back in the tropical gardens, but all with Ocean views. There are 4 grades of Bure, Ocean View, with a King size bed and 2 singles in the spacious living area, a Deluxe Oceanview, which are slightly bigger and all but 1 are beachfront, Family Bures, with 2 bedrooms with a king bed (one with ensuite) plus 3 singles in the living area, and the Tadre ('dream in Fijian) Bure, an ideal honeymoon bure, as there are only 2, located right at the very end and the most private and quietest part of the beachfront. These are designed for 2 adults only, with a fantastic 4-poster King size bed with sheer curtains and 2 day bed in the living area. Guests are also treated to a complimentary bottle of Australian sparkling wine and a tropical fruit platter, on arrival, to really start you visit in the most romantic way! All bures have air-conditioning, ceiling fan, fridge, plunger coffee and tea making facilities, ensuite bathrooms and private verandahs.
There are 3 restaurants to choose from, from the casual Beach Bar, which is open all day for casual snacks and lighter meals, with a Kids Menu and evenign cocktail hour, the Terrace Restaurant, located in the middle of the resort, with views across the pools and lush gardens offering all day al fresco dining from breakfast to an a la carte, daily-changing lunch and dinner menu, with lots of kids choices, and finally, the Treetops Restaurant, located above the Terrace Restaurant, and below a canopy of trees and the Fijian sunset sky, this restaurant offers a relaxed dinner venue for guests 13yrs and over, offering Pacific Rim cuisine with local Pacific Island influences and local produce. There are also 2 weekly Fijian themed buffets, with traditional entertainment, or for something really romantic, the Resort can arrange beachside or private jetty dining, or deluxe lunch picnic hampers, for a secluded day trip out! there is also a daily happy hour, to relax with a drink and chat to your fellow guests.

Fiji has one of the best air service connections of any of the islands in the Pacific.
Fiji Airways ( was Air Pacific ), Fiji's national carrier, provides a daily service to Sydney, Auckland and Los Angeles, and frequent flights to Brisbane and Melbourne. San Francisco San Francisco. Further afield it operates 5 times a week to Hong Kong, twice a week to Tokyo and 3 times a week to Singapore They also provide regular services to the neighbouring island nations of Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tuvulu and the Solomon Islands.
Korean Air operate three flights a week between Seoul and Nadi. On the southbound flights from Seoul a direct connection can be made off Korean Air's daily London-Seoul flight. However, on the return flight, a night stop will be required in Seoul, as the flight timings do not permit a same day connection.
Air New Zealand operates daily to/from Auckland with connections to its double-daily flights to London, either via Los Angeles or Hong Kong. Air New Zealand also operates a codeshare arrangement with Air Pacific providing seats on their non-stop Nadi-Los Angeles flights.
Virgin Australia operate a regular service from/to Sydney, with connections to many other Australian cities.
Air Calin operate twice a week between Noumea and Nadi.
Air Niugini operate a twice a week service from and to Port Moresby via Honiara to Nadi.
Pacific Sun, Fiji Airways's domestic airline subsidiary, operates an extensive domestic flight network covering all the countries main islands, with at least a daily service. The main northern islands receive at least two flights a day and some times more, the less populated islands get a restricted service, so sometimes a night stop in Nadi or Suva may be required when connecting between some of the less popular islands.
A number of the outer Island Resorts operate their own dedicated daily flights, to transfer their clients from Nadi to the resort and back, using either fixed wing commuter aircraft, seaplanes or helicopters. Further details of these will be given at the time we provide our quotation.
